You joked in the other topic about a Planet Hulk movie. They refuse to do any more Hulk starring movies because of how the character distribution rights are shared with Universal. They still have to license him from Universal for ensemble roles, but they dont have to split the distribution profit.

- The Mandarin is nothing more than a scapegoat and distraction for the very real, very scandalous, and very fatal explosions that Killian's dangerously untested Extremis is causing when bad batches go boom in populated areas. Killian uses Generic McTerrorist to explain away very real problems so no one traces anything back to him. It's a billionaire CEO doing super unethical things to fasttrack an unstable product and doing underhanded and shady things to keep anyone from looking too close or connect him.

Agents of SHIELD S1 was definitely a tough ride for awhile. Loved May and Coulson and Skye, but everyone else was alright. FitzSimmons grew on me, but they felt very bland and stock for the longest time, even moreso adding Tripp as what seemed like another love interest. I forgot how much he was around in the first season, as well as how early some other things appeared. The TAHITI stuff saved my interest early on and kept me going through some tough standalones, and when HYDRA hit, boy, I was hooked for the rest of the season.

S2... I think I quit on it multiple times, yet I think I've seen 80% of the episodes? I know the big winter break between raiding the temple and "Aftershocks" was a long one, and I'm surprised that Coulson figuring out it was a map wasn't as long and drawn out as I remembered. I really never got invested in Whitehall, Jianying (Sierra!), and The Doctor (though now that I've seen Twin Peaks, I kind of want to go back for him). Agent Carter held my interest more (Victor!), and I barely remember any of Afterlife. I will say Hunter and Bobbi are the best, and Mack started slow but I got to love him later. Lincoln and Talbot... ugh.

I'm higher on AoU than most people, I think, but Banner/Widow is potentially the worst thing the MCU has ever done. It looks especially bad because it came right on the heels of Winter Soldier, where Cap and Widow exhibited what was probably among the best chemistry of any two characters in the franchise.

I'm not normally a "shipper" but that's a decision that's always going to leave a bad taste in my mouth, particularly since Civil War then doubles down with the whole Sharon thing, who is pretty easily the most boring character in the franchise.

Guardians 2 will age better than a lot of these films that we rank ahead of it. Very contained story, Kurt Russell was as good as any villain not named Loki, Thanos, or Killmonger. Plus Yondu steals the entire film

Ugghhh Raina is so obvious. She's got to be lying to Gordon through her spiny teeth. Or maybe not. Seems like an appropriate switcheroo. But Raina's vision was totally about Ward firing on the village.

Ugh. Ward is going to mess up everything. When Simmons said "The next terrible thing he does is on me"... it's going to be this.

Oh no. Raina was right for a different reason. I'm... actually really sad to see Gonzales go.

But ugghhh Skye's mom sucks.

This is backing up a bit, but I really liked when the OG 6 invaded that HYDRA base, Skye has a single take fight scene where she takes out a ton of dudes. Not quite on the level of the Daredevil hallway scene in Ep 2 but the same kind of deal. Really showed how far she's come as an agent.

In this episode they:

- Made Bobbi get shot almost through the heart
- Made you think May got shot in the stomach a bunch
- Made you think Fitz got stabbed
- Started making Coulson turn into stone
- Had Skye almost get life-drained to death

It's like the only person who got away without anything bad happening to them was Simmons.

But jeez, they really put everything on the line here. Lot of close calls.

In the end, Cal saved the day. Good man.

Good to see May moving on. And so glad that Bobbi is ok... though it seems like she's retiring, and maybe taking Hunter with her. Mack, however, stays. So after all season 2... every little person added and removed... Mack is going to be the ONE that stays? Maybe Hunter will stay too, idk, but Mack, the guy who never fought and was leaving will stay?

Good. He's a freaking badass.

A little curious that they aren't showing the Inhumans. Did Lincoln just explain everything to them all and they took off? Are they in custody? I'm a little curious to know what happened there... Lincoln FROM CINCINNATI is a cool dude and deserves the best.

Skye... is she taking Daisy as her actual name now? Please tell me she just said that to make Cal happy in his new life... speaking of which, really kind of SHIELD to mind-wipe Cal. That's... a really sweet ending.

I really enjoyed AoU when I first watch it, but I felt something bad in my gut while leaving the threater. Took me a while to understand it. I remember first giving it a 9/10 score in a forum review and then seeing that score go down over time (I tend to do that, I'm still deciding whether Infinity War is my favorite MCU film or not).

It's like a lot of really wesome stuff happening in one film, but nothing really lands. Ultron is great but he really jobs in the end. Vision is a glorified Deus Ex Machina designed to make Ultron job. Stark/Cap/Thor don't do much. Sorry TC, you are one of the few people in the internet who liked Thor's sidequest. It often gets compared to that video scene from Batman vs Superman in the sense that it's a glorified trailer for upcoming films.

I might be one of the few people who liked Hulk/Natasha, though. It didn't have amazing chemistry but I liked how it developed both characters. Hawkeye and Wanda are great too.

The good in GotG2 is really good but you could easily take away 15-30 minutes of jokes and fluff and not miss anything. It's trying too hard to be GotG1 with all the Groot and Drax stuff and misses the fact that the first film succeeded because it was new. The second one doesn't feel new enough.

the second half of guardians 2 actually does feel pretty new to me. it's slower paced and more serious than what i'm used to from this franchise.

but yeah, the first half definitely feels like both guardians 1 on steroids (they pretty much bombard you with jokes and old pop music) and a poor man's version of guardians 1. kind of a weird comparison but the first half almost feels like blues brothers 2000 to me in the way it compares to its predecessor. in that movie they throw tons of car crashes and CGI ghost riders at you, but it completely misses the charm, wit and appeal of the first movie.
