Sure, but later, when it gets a good sale. I like the game, and while I wish one of the remakes would include the DS content, I'm more likely to play it on my PS4 than my PSP. Sadly the game isn't playable on PSTV if you own it on the PAL PSN.

Nope. Already own two copies of Disgaea 1 and, honestly, I'm not even sure why I even have that second copy since I don't like the genre to begin with. At least with the first one, I was trying to see if my tastes had changed.

I'd rather they port the Disgaea collection from the PS3. I haven't played any of those and they would be a terrific value.

Probably, and I bet I won't be able to make it to the end yet again. I wonder why I always get underleveled, outnumbered and underpowered in these SRPGs... always. I hope I can at least get past the moon levels this time around...

Not when your wind and ice mages are like lv 15 and the weakest enemy you face in your current progress stage is lv 28. I know I could grind on easier stages but it takes SO DAMN LONG... still love the game somehow. lol

There are ways to speed up the grinding.

It also helps to teach mages (and main characters) different varieties of magic.

The Dark Assembly? Tried the exp multiplier, got more refusals than acceptances, leading to have even more people hating me there, so I found this option in particular to be more annoying than helpful.

you can beat the game with a group of level 100 easily. there really isn't a reason to really grind that hard to level 9999. hell at 150 you can probably solo the last level.

That's like saying you can beat Skyrim's main story doing nothing but progressing in the story so there's no reason to do anything else.

skyrim has a lot of things derailling you off the main story line.

Disgaea has everything locked behind the post game. I mean sure you can just do the item world, but you get tried of that, plus there are unbeatable levels that probably will deterrent from playing that.

Just play make magic user and stand right next to the main character so they can learn that magic. make the main character use that magic get it to level 1 and you're done. you can destory everything.

Disgaea is all about breaking the game mechanics.

You would still need to level up the magic user to make him learn higher level spells to let the other characters learn those too, right? That's where things got muddy for me. Specially when it came to healing, since heals do not earn any exp. I wish I had learned earlier that healers could use bows. lol

For grinding, there's a few specific levels you want to use. And all you want to use the Dark Assembly for is to make enemies weaker or stronger, depending on if you can actually beat the level or not. You don't want to use the exp multiplier cause that works for the first enemy killed only. You can use that if your character is just one shotting whatever you're killing.

I would tell you the grinding levels but I don't have the levels memorized anymore.

No, let's take something like fire magic. The second to top tier magic spell is considered the best to use, for all elements, so you level up your mage to learn that spell, then you make characters learn only that spell. They don't have to learn the lower tier spells.

That's what I do with my healer so they don't have to use a bow cause the healer's bow usage is poop.

I didn't mean the Dark Assembly. There's a level in Jotunheim that provides a cheap way to level up characters quickly; all the squares on the map have an invincibility effect except for one, so you can throw enemies into each other to level them up, and then throw them into the vulnerable square so that whatever character you want to level can attack them without consequence.

Its also a good idea to reincarnate some of your most-used units so they can get to the next stage within their class. And you can level up your weapons and equipment in the Item world, which not only makes the equipment better, but also provides an easy way to grind (plus you get some good items sometimes as rewards).

Ah yes, that's a really good level for initial level grinding.

As for reincarnating, you want to make sure you reincarnate and use actual good classes cause those ones have good stats. And you also want to get some of the unlockable classes cause they are real good. Like the Ninja, Ronin, Angel, and if you're feeling really grindy the Majin.

I don't think so, but it is a good one to get. It basically has QoL changes and Etna Mode. It might have other things to but I don't remember what they were.

the one on steam has all the features the psp game has . The only thing that sucks about the pc one on steam is highest resolution is 1080p. and the textures are all from the psp/ps2 game. it looks horrible.

It has etna mode in it.

The bigest change in complete is that it's in the new engine with looking better sprites.

Depends on if they are updating the systems or if we are actually still stuck using the original D1 gameplay and mechanics. Its just gotten so much better since the original D1 that it would be a shame if they didn't implement at least SOME of the new stuff (cheat shop and making sure to use a newer build of the item world randomization stuff would be a very good start).

That reminds me of Skies of Arcadia for Gamecube where they added stuff a lot but also removed something for no reason.
