I tend to only work from home when I am sick or something like that though because I prefer going to the office and interacting with my co-workers. Staying at home all day long gets boring. There are many jobs that will never be able to work from home. Factory jobs, construction jobs, really any type of manual labor job, etc cannot be done at home. Really only the white collar office type jobs are those that can be worked from home. Like another person said, people would still leave their house for recreation. People go to theaters, concerts, parks, etc and those all require leaving the house. Many people also like shopping. Online shopping is good for some things, but not everything. Some things you really need to see and try in person before you buy. You can buy groceries online, but personally I wouldn't do it. I want to buy my groceries in store so I can see exactly what I am getting. Clothes are another thing. I like to try on clothes to make sure they fit before I buy them. Plus, some people just like to "window shop" (i.e. just go shopping as an escapism without really buying anything in particular).
