I'm glad they dropped in a little tidbit to explain why Kurama eats those carrot sticks, too. FMP has a tendency to have the last episode in an arc be named after the book it's from, so I'm assuming the next episode will finish off this arc.

Beat Traverse Town in KH1

Traverse Town is a good intro to the game, I think. It's not super exciting, but it's interesting mostly for all the FF cameos.

I really wish they could've gotten David Boreanaz back to voice Squall though.

The Grid completed as both Sora and Riku. I like that the two characters have different perspectives in each world. Sora is unbridled optimism, while Riku is struggling to move from pessimism to optimism. I like that the advice he gives to others is stuff he has a hard time doing himself while being completely self-aware of that fact. Also, I was glad we finally got to have a boss fight against a non-Heartless/Nightmare in this world.

also hey there's Xemnas and Axel is stuck with all the icky jobs yet again (although it seems to be by choice...!)

In KH2, you could just move straight past the Gummi thing and go to the world itself once you've completed it the first time. I thought you could do the same thing in KH1, but maybe not.

Late but the music in City of Clocks is great, one of my favorites. The boss battle music for Rinzler in The Grid is good too.

The One with Chandler in a Box is exhibit B of why they should never skip holiday episodes in syndication because the Joey/Chandler/Kathy love triangle is one of the best serious arcs Friends ever did, and that's the climax.

I really like Daru and Suzuha's interactions in Steins;Gate 0. There wasn't really too much of it in the original series.

Finished Prankster's Paradise as both Sora and Riku. I was really hoping Riku's part inside Monstro would play out exactly like it did in KH1, so I was very pleased to see that the person in the black coat was Riku. I was hoping you'd get to fight him, too, but alas.

also Maleficent has kidnapped Minnie so Mickey, Donald, and Goofy rush back to Disney Castle to save her while Yen Sid says the timing is too perfect and there must have been a change in the darkness

I didn't like the TWEWY music remixes compared to the original TWEWY music but I liked seeing those characters again.

I don't think so. I base this on not even entirely remembering what Flick Cup is so I'm assuming it could not have been important.

Yeah, the remixes aren't as good, but it's still cool to hear them. Also, I love that they show the TWEWY characters passing the light puck. That's such a cool little touch. I had forgotten what a lovable idiot Beat is, too.

Anyway, Traverse Town Redux completed as Sora and Riku. I love that Joshua took the time to explain to Riku what was going on with the worlds being split in two but didn't bother telling Sora anything. If it's two people dreaming up the same world, could it be that Sora and Riku are the ones dreaming? After all, they've dreamed of things in these worlds that are relevant to themselves personally.

In the real world, Maleficent demands that Mickey hand over the data they got from Re:coded, but Axel--excuse me, Lea (Got it memorized?)--saves the day.

Calling is definitely inferior to the original, but Someday grew on me, and Twister ~kingdom mix~ is probably my favorite version of the track. Which is saying something, because there's so many versions of that one.

The singers are just very audibly having so much fun singing it, it's infectious.

Land of the Musketeers completed as Sora and Riku. It was pretty interesting that they were able to directly influence each other despite being two separate worlds. Also, those Wonder Comic Reality Shifts were amazing.

Back in the real world, everyone's freaking out about what Xehanort is up to because he can predict their every move or some such. They have to find a way to catch him off guard, and who better to do that than Lea, right?

Yeah, Deep Jungle is bad for many reasons, although I actually did like the Tarzan movie. World would've been a lot better if they could've used Phil Collins music for it. Sora and Donald bickering for much of the first part of KH1 contributes to that part of the game being generally hard to enjoy.

Nah, it just comes across as childish. If they made it seem like a comedy bit like they usually do when Donald Duck bickers with people, I'd have been fine with it, but they play all of that straight.

It's not for comedy, it's just a little bit to show how their relationship grew.

It makes the scenes at hollow bastion later more believable and satisfying. If they were all best friends from the start that would cheapen it.

Eh, I don't know about that either. Sora and Goofy got along well right off the bat, and he does the same thing as Donald. I think you can have them not get along at first without the need to play it straight, which only makes it annoying, not endearing.

I could just look up that armor's stats or whatever in a FAQ but it's the little things that keep some magic of discovery, y'know?

but seriously it's just ridiculous it costs so many points. The Guardian is worth 4500-5500 points. The best you can realistically expect from a fishing trip in total is 13000 points and that's with godly luck and rain. In reality it's more like 10000-11000 points still requiring the luck of the Guardian appearing... before you factor in that the bait cost is 1900 per trip so you're netting even less.

Symphony of Sorcery complete. That was an excellent world in terms of presentation and aesthetics. I love the little touch of turning weapon sounds into musical notes. The gameplay was kind of hit or miss because there were so many platforms, especially in Riku's part, so I kept falling down. Plus, this was easily the worst Reality Shift.

Once again, Sora and Riku directly influence the outcome of the other's dream world. In the real world, everyone continues to speak in extremely vague terms about what's going on, but Mickey says he can predict where Sora and Riku will appear when they finally emerge from their dreams, so he heads there to meet them. Final world on the map is next!
