It took a day for me to get the game to load past the opening scene for some reason, but it seems to work now.

This Choose Your Own Adventure book about the Rat King gives me a lot of joy after all the Give Yourself Goosebumps books I used to read.

Didn't like it much, I guess? I'm still adjusting to them getting younger again and I don't see the neat conversation mechanics Chloe or especially Max had yet in previous episodes.

Aaaaaaaand beat it. Well that was short.

It wss fun to have a little pirate adventure but I don't think this episode had much vision. Nevermind it being short in that aspect, some of its dialogue felt repetitive too and I don't know how much I really learned about either of them. This is the first time I though Chloe > Max though, so that's something -- still Team Max overall though!

And hey Max, what the eff about not getting back to Chloe much over all these years? This previous aspect of their relationship made me guess Chloe messed up in some weird way or got too clingy...memory might be failing me, but now it just seems like Max removed herself. I can't speak to her Seattle life at the time, but aa far as her relationship with Chloe goes this was a pretty crucial time she needed someone.

I enjoyed Farewell for what it was, just a quick thing to spend more time with the characters (and more LiS is always welcome, I would buy baby Max and Chloe adventures too). Still, it definitely could've been better. I'd have preferred more focus on character interactions and less on exploring, like, an attic where nothing matters. The final video still hit me pretty hard though, and I liked what character interactions there were (Chloe already knowing Max was leaving and setting up a fun day is great).

There's no direct answer (Max in Seattle is another good spinoff idea imho) but the theory I subscribe to is that William's death hit Max pretty hard too. While she's struggling with that and with a new city (especially hard for a shy person like her) her capacity to support Chloe long-distance would naturally suffer. Then, once they started falling out of touch, Max seems like the type of person to start stressing over that and falling further out of touch rather than just... replying. I think that's believable for her character.

I still miss Chloe, hopefully BtS sold well enough that we get BtS2 or something.

I missed Max, but also I missed rewinding gameplay to inform your choices -- that has been the driving "cool" thing of the series for me and what separated LiS fron the rest of the genre. Stop taking me further away from the time Max got her powers and give us something that's post-Chloe/Bay so I can rewind again.

I wish they'd do three episodes based on each timeline and alternate their releases (Chloe 1, Bay 1, Chloe 2, Bay 2, Chloe 3, Bay 3)...bonus points if they could convincingly tie it back together somehow. Even if they do something different going forward though or even get a whole new cast, that's fine too. I just think we've had enough prequels and think they've let backstory get in the way of their special mechanic.

I'm content to let LIS lie as its own complete thing without trying to intrude on it. before the storm filled in some gaps that maybe didn't need to be filled but more or less left the canon alone and told an interesting story. trying to mess with Max makes me feel a little uncomfortable. that game was great.
