Quarter tank if it's not winter, half tank if it is.

I dislike going to gas stations. I'm honestly surprised someone hasn't come up with a better way to get gas yet.

Like having a fuel tank at everyone's house. And you just call someone to fill it when it's getting low? Though, we would still have to have gas stations for long trips and for when you're moving and don't wanna fill the tank.

Either way, maybe someone has found a better way, but hasn't told the rest of the world yet...

I see a lot of accidental and intentional explosions if that happened.

I actually can't think of a better way than a gas station and that sucks

Yeah. I can, too. And one explosion would most likely end up causing more...

No particular reason though I do keep telling myself to keep it at least at 50% in case there's an emergency and I can't risk spending the time getting gas.

My grandma and mom tell me the same thing. Though my Grandma usually keeps it above 50%. My mom just waits to get to 50%, then fills it up as soon as she gets the chance...

I prefer not to go below 1/4 tank. Any less and the fuel pump is starting to become less submerged risking burning up the pump. The pump is cooled by the fuel.

Since my car can now tell me how many miles I can go before empty, I usually let it run until I am at about 10 - 30 miles till empty (depending on how far in the middle of nowhere I am). Since I have a 10 gallon tank, that is probably around 5%.

On my old car the gas gauge was broken and always stopped at 1/4 of a tank, so I always made sure to get gas once it hit that.

But he said he fills up at half tank in the winter. That means he stands outside in the cold more often.

But he said he fills up at half tank in the winter. That means he stands outside in the cold more often.

I've been told that cold weather can cause condensation inside your gas tank if it's too empty. And you don't want water in your fuel lines for obvious reasons.

I do it at less than 10% most of the time. If I have a drive coming up in an area where Im not familiar, then Ill fill up earlier just so I dont find myself in a situation without a gas station nearby. .

Could be playing it safe. During cold weather, running out of gas without realizing it is a much bigger problem than summer.

Typically half tank. You never know when your car could crap out or wind up in the ditch at the worst possible time and I'd rather not be without heat when that happens.
