Yes, but there's lines I like not crossing at times. This topic goes overboard on many semantic arguments. I don't like reading spoilers and such, but podcasts are great.

Well there's nothing wrong with using an old name if you hate the new one.

I have to make an effort to not say Kairi Hojo cause I think Hojo sounds way better than Sane (also because Sane being not pronounced in a Japanese way grates on me)

Pretty sure MWC does it across the board though so prob a hipster

Just Am Drag.

I have called Rollins Black a few times when it was a situation that made sense.

And I think that's it. I didn't watch Moxley during his prime, never called Finn or anyone else any other. I call Nash and Hall their names or gimmick depending on conversation.

I can admit I probably would have called Samoa Joe Samoa Joe either way cause it's cool, and if Abyss had ever came over he would have been Abyss.

But the only one I've ever really called by Indy name is Am Drag.

I kinda think Daniel Bryan is a stupid name and if I had more fondness for the guy and had seen him in his indie days I could definitely see me calling him Danielson instead

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose > Tyler Black and Jon Moxley though.

WWE cares a lot more than the performers do I'm sure. Obvious exceptions to guys who came up with their own gimmick or have kept it across organizations like MVP.

I think it's a holdover from the kayfabe days. I mean, I don't know these people personally and I'd hate to assume as such. I think it matters less nowadays. I know Bryan Alvarez told a story about calling Adam Cole by his real name, and he didn't realize he had done it - in fact, he didn't realize the name he had used WAS his real name. He thought he had just said the wrong name. Alvarez went to apologize later and said, "Is your real name X?" Adam Cole laughed and said, "Yeah, I thought we were on a first name basis now!"

"Tyler Black" being the name he chose for himself before going to WWE, something that sounds like a name a 14 year old would give their D&D character, makes me think those flaming pants and BURN IT DOWNNNN were probably Rollins's idea.
