Random question for what few readers are here

Is the explanation for Shane McMahon turning on Bryan given by Owens and Zayn on SD (assuming they're telling the truth!!) plausible or is that still too Russo a twist for that match?

I love Russo so I will accept either answer graciously, of course. Though I will note in this instance I was trying to not be so much Russoey, but create an out that A. Didn't turn Bryan heel because that's stupid. B. Didn't have Zayn and Owens lose because I didn't care for that. C. Didn't have Bryan lose cleanly his first match back. D. Didn't arbitrarily make Shane come off as dead weight cause that's inconsistent.

But looking at it, when you take into consideration that Shane was just brutally assaulted by the two of em it doesn't make sense for em to straight up be in cahoots either so you gotta twist some stupid explanation.

Raw Week 3 April 2018

There is a brief graphic and hype for Mr McMahon appearing tonight to address the chaos in WWE. (76) However, Raw essentially starts with, shock, a match. Miz vs Cedric Alexander. Cedric is still out to prove himself and comes out strong, but Miz proves more wiley than Elias and manages to hold his speed blitz at bay long enough to hit a low blow while the ref is distracted and hit a Skull Crushing Finale for the win.(76)

Miz offers Cedric a handshake, is blown off as Cedric didn't take the nut punch well, but Miz goes on like nothing happened. Miz cuts a promo, saying how some people like Roman whine and complain, and some people, like himself, just come out here week in and week out, and fight. And win. He saw that Cedric wanted an opportunity to prove himself, and he gave it to him. The Universal Champion isn't here tonight, but that's not anything new-- Miz will continue to represent the most prestigious title on Raw.(97)

We come back from commercial to... awkward silence. The announcers talk about how much like last week, no matches have been made, and I guess no one has any immediate issue right now... sooo... they try to discuss what this could mean (71) Miz comes BACK out, complains about how he has to do everything to keep HIS SHOW together. He orders Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas to fight to fill time to boos-- they're interrupted by Matt Hardy, who cuts some nonsenical promo about how that is the worst torture and they will be DELETED as Jeff panders to the crowd not really interacting with the promo at all (74)

Hardyz d. The Miztourage. Jeff and Matt are even further off timing than last week. Jeff sorta just does the last half by himself and doesn't bother to tag Matt in. Matt applauds with many "WONDERFULS" as Jeff gets it done (69) Mr McMahon's limo arrives, the announcers giving a sigh of relief and hoping for an end to this state of confusion (74)

Mr McMahon comes to the ring. He says Shane, Daniel Bryan, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Kurt Angle, for various reasons, none of them are in any position to run the company currently, and well, that's a problem. He's the only one left with any experience doing this, and he's going to have to make drastic moves to bring order back to the WWE... just then BAWWAH BAWWAH... Kevin Owens's theme hits, and he and Zayn head to the ring-- what are they doing on Raw!? They banter a bit back and forth about how great it is the BOSS is here to fix everything-- Vince begins to speak up, but is decked by a headbutt from Owens. He's utterly mauled by the two of them, with Owens shouting about how Vince should've learned from last time he showed up. Vince is stretchered out. Zayn says they'll be running Raw tonight! (97)

Owens and Zayn live it up, make themselves at home in the GM's office. Ronda comes in-- Owens compliments her for taking Stephanie out. She's not interested in their-- Zayn says she's pretty sure that Sonya Deville thinks she's a better MMA fighter than Ronda and she should go shut her up-- Ronda thinks he's full of it but absolution is in the ring for some reason so she heads to the ring (87)

Rousey beats the hell out of Sonya Deville with strikes-- the ref stops the match, declaring Ronda the winner as Paige and Mandy Rose try to plead Ronda off (43) Alexa heads to the ring, grabs the mic, suggest Ronda face Nia! Ronda glares at her, Alexa runs (53)

Owens tries to make a match between Kane and Rollins, because Kane likes violence and they don't like Rollins. Rollins refuses to listen to them. Zayn suggests Rollins is a coward. Balor shows up out of nowhere to accept the match (88) Balor d. Kane. Get that win back, son. (80)

Nia vs Bayley for the women's title. Sasha almost immediately rushes the ring before the match can really get underway. They brawl to the back. Nia scratches her head (53) Cesaro and Sheamus call out Strowman and Hawkins for their tag title rematch. Strowman is always ready for a fight! And Hawkins is... well, he's present. They are then blindsided by the Revival! (70) Strowman and Hawkins d. The Revival. Hawkins is conscious. Rare footage of Hawkins getting offense. (60)

Roman approaches Rollins backstage, says he's sick of these two acting like they run the show just cause they beat up an old guy, suggests they take these guys out, SHIELD Style, does the fist bump thing. Rollins is like "aren't you busy with someone else?" Roman doesn't seem concerned, insists on the fist bump. Rollins shrugs and is like "let's do this." They head to the GM office, brawl with Owens and Zayn to the ring. Impromptu match begins!(95)

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs Rollins and Reigns. Samoa Joe shows up almost immediately for the distraction, taunting Reigns. Reigns goes to get himself some. Rollins is left alone 1v2. Owens and Zayn eventually win, despite Rollins's best attempts to tease victory with his GRIT (78)

Owens and Zayn celebrate over the dead Rollins, Coach interrupts them from the announce position. Says that he's received word from WWE.com that the executive shareholders of WWE are concerned by the lack of faith in management and that top investors will step up to fill the gap in leadership, starting tomorrow with Smackdown, so this may be their last hurrah. Owens and Zayn show some false bravado and try to casually laugh it off as we fade to black (89)

EC3 shows up. He's invested a substantial sum into the WWE recently with some extra help from his rich Aunt D, and as such was given first crack at being named the new OWNER of Smackdown. He gloats about being so rich a bit, but the gist is Smackdown is going to be very different from here on in. (61)

Benjamin & Gable d. The Ascension (62) AJ Styles approaches Orton backstage-- says he doesn't care about anything regarding the new GM, especially when "Aunt D" is involved, but wants to know what the hell-- Orton apologises and assures AJ he'll have his back if he needs him any time soon. AJ takes him at his word, for now. (79)

Liv Morgan is so happy with her Women's Battle Royal trophy. She's beaming, completely oblivious as Riott and Logan just look kinda annoyed. Becky and Charlotte enter the frame, and Becky tries to psych Charlotte up for a match with the Riott Squad to cheer her up after her loss to Asuka. Riott Squad accept they head to the ring-- Liv is delayed until Ruby yells "LIV!" (55) Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair d. The Riott Squad. Ruby shrieks at Liv for not interfering after the match as she was too busy pandering to the crowd. Liv makes a sad face and apologizes profusely. (54)

Owens and Zayn show up to EC3's office. They go in strong, asking what EC3 is going to do differently to prevent them from crippling him too. EC3 tells them to chill, says he's got no problem with them, and as a token of good faith, he'll put him in a match tonight with the tag champions for the titles! Owens and Zayn accept this peace offering happily (87)

Liv Morgan asks Ruby Riott real nicely to guard her trophy during her match with Naomi shortly. Ruby's like "yeah whatever" and hands it to Sarah Logan (46) Liv Morgan d. Naomi-- neither of the Riott Squad members pay any attention to her as "spite"(?) but she just straight up wins clean anyway. (49)

EC3 is in the ring again-- he calls out Carmella to make clear the situation. She's a Smackdown Superstar, so the Universal Title is now a Smackdown title. That's just how it is. And as such, she's going to defend it, tonight... against... E... C... 3. Carmella properly calls the this as BS abuse of his power, but says he's in for TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE thinkin he can take her and he's gonna be the next Sin Cara when she's done with him-- the yellow one with the little mark on his boot! She starts to rip into his Aunt D and how she sucks so bad she ran an entire company into the gro-- EC3 cuts her off before she can make it too clear... says he shouldn't underestimate her-- instead it'll be a handicap match. EC3, Rusev, and Jinder vs Carmella, with EC3 winning the title if his team wins. Carmella can no longer keep her cool and shrieks that this isn't fair! (80)

Ziggler is in the ring with his broken Andre the Giant memorial trophy. He holds it up for the fans... asks them where the "you deserve it!!" chant is. They chant it, he calls them sheep, they boo. He says he's sick of that damn chant, and the idea that people deserve things. Dolph Ziggler has never gotten anything he deserved in this company, and it's all because of John Cena taking his damn spotlight-- the worst time being... cue clip of Survivor Series from YEARS AGO when he ousted the Authority. That should have been his MOMENT, but JOHN CENA took all the credit as HIS. Well now Cena got what he deserved. A beating, and being snubbed from the greatest show of them all... Wrestlemania. Oh, and this stupid ass participation award trophy WWE can stick it. He discards the Andre Trophy. (85)

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are in the ring... The New Day come out, repped by Big E and Kofi. Owens and Zayn argue with the ref that these are not the tag champions-- the ref insists this is the match signed by EC3. The New Day hit the ring and they've no choice but to battle at this point. Owens and Zayn are tested but come out on top in a hard fought match. Owens and Zayn storm to the back after gaining their composure. (81)

After commercial, Owens and Zayn are in EC3's office. EC3 calmly tries to explain that he legitimately forgot who the tag champions were and he was sure it was The New Day, but he can't make the match now since he already gave the two big guys with hammers a match vs The Usos during the break. KO and Zayn don't accept this, and signal attacking him, but are blindsided by Roode and Nakamura, who are out for retribution from last week! They brawl out of the office, and are eventually run off (87)

Asuka d. Lana to retain the SD Women's Title (57) Renee Young tries to get some words with KAIRI SANE, who has apparently now joined Smackdown, and how she will prepare for Asuka at some point down the line! Kairi says some stuff in Japanese-- Renee tries to divert to yachts-- Kairi shows a face of disgust at the word "yacht" and shouts

Before Renee Young can move the scene along, suddenly Vince Russo(!!!) appears. He just starts on a rant "you know bro, this Carrie Sane, you heard her bro she's a real pirate bro and she doesn't like you talking like that and she's going to be the next big thing bro okay. So you'd better get ready." Renee Young asks why Russo is here-- Russo says it's obvious, he's Carrie Sane's manager, bro, and she's going STRAIGHT TO THE TOP. Renee doubts it was actually that obvious since he wasn't here when she was here-- Russo ain't got time for this and leaves (51)

Bludgeon Bros vs Usos for the tag titles. Without three teams involved to distract, the Bludgeons basically squash The Usos in 4 minutes as they can't get on track whatsoever. The Bludgeon Bros are the new tag champions. (61)

EC3, Rusev, and Jinder do their entrances, and await Carmella. Carmella's music plays, but she doesn't show up-- she instead appears on the tron in the parking lot, and says she's pretty sure she's a Raw superstar now, so she's going to ignore the match EC3 made. Later! She drives off! EC3 is livid! But not without a backup plan, while he'll sort out Carmella SOON, he says he KNOWS AJ Styles is Smackdown talent. He calls out AJ to defend his title in a 3 on 1 handicap match, right now, or he's FIRED! AJ comes out to battle, showing no fear. (85)

AJ Styles vs EC3, Rusev, and Jinder. AJ holds up really well all things considered. The numbers start to get to him, but before it gets too bad, Randy Orton comes out! As the ref is distracted, Orton goes for the RKO... on AJ! AJ shoves him off. Orton flashes him a smile, slithers out, then RKOs Aiden English on the floor. Rusev shouts ORTON!!! and chases him out, leaving it 2v1. AJ capitalizes on the confusion, hits the Phenomenal Forearm on Jinder, and wins to retain (72)
