I have been checking Right Stuf for news of a possible import Blu-Ray release for the first Heaven's Feel movie ( la the Persona 3 movies), but ... nothing yet. In the meantime, currently waiting for Super Robot Wars X (PS4) to ship.

I don't know how I did it but I finished watching re:creators. How? How does this have even a remotely positive rating? This has got to be one of the worst things I have ever seen. This show was true garbage. I'm even probably in the target audience for once but it doesn't matter.

There were interesting concepts in this anime but whoever wrote and directed it did not have the skill required to explore them in meaningful ways. I don't even want to talk about it anymore. I'm so worn out from this whole experience and I'm just glad its over.

Didn't know what to watch so I watched the first 2 eps of megalo box. I'd been curious about it. Seems interesting enough. I intend to watch it when it finishes. I still feel like I haven't seen enough to really know if it's good or not. I might preview some more shows. I've been curious about the GGO anime ever since one of you mentioned it was written by the kino no tabi person so perhaps thats next.

Just watched the first ep (of GGO:A). It was decent. I'll watch it when it finishes. Part of me can't help but feel like the strat they used at the end was utterly stupid though and that with those advantages they could have used much much more efficient strategies to win. I can't imagine an open street intersection provides any advantage to a speed based close range fighter. The sniper should have had a field day though with no cover anywhere nearby.

Finished Black Lagoon. I was actually scared for Rock when he challenged Balalaika. I didn't know what to expect, in a different timeline they all die there. Rock chose the path of the villian :(

This basically a confession for her right? I mean, they're influencing each other's dishes so much now, that their ship is basically canon at this point.

I wasn't too thrilled at how the current arc has dragged on for this long, but now, it was worth it to see so much character development for Erina.

Been watching sora yori (a place further than the universe) over the last few days. Just finished episode 7. This is a feel good show if there ever was one. It's kind of strange. I enjoy every episode but feel almost no desire to start the next episode after I finish. I'm not really sure why.

I can see why this is so well received though. Going into it I was trying to think of what they would need to accomplish in order for a plot that is frankly stupid to actually work and they managed it nearly flawlessly. At least one of the girls has a very strong reason to go specifically to Antarctica, and the rest have compelling reasons for doing something absurd. They even made the biggest leap a little more believable with the reporter girl. That plotline seemed a bit ridiculous but they managed it pretty well showing how much the expedition was hurting for money that you can start to believe something this crazy might actually happen.

The music fits really well and gets right ya in the feels when something works out and they play that one track. I also really like the first 3 seconds of the opening where the camera is upside down and kimari flips it.

My wife got me to watch Magical Girl Ore. In return, I got her to watch Pop Team Epic. ... I think I won that exchange. Thinking of getting back into Danmachi after playing a bit of the mobile game (Memoria Freese).

Senran Kagura is all of the fan service from the games, but almost none of the real story. I do not recommend the anime. (Basically the same thing I say any time Corpse Party gets mentioned.)

The problem with senran kagura even as games is that its clothing destruction battle WITH censorship so it just kinda pisses you off. The anime should have at least been like queens blade (the other clothing destruction battle anime I can think of). It's kind of a bummer because the concept could easily work.

Finished the anime. It was pretty great. I really didn't think I was gonna like it going in but I'm happy I was wrong. For a show that makes you feel so good, it sure got me to cry a lot. I'm sad the show is over. No idea what I'm gonna watch next.

I think I cried in almost every episode but I'm a crybaby. I've found that if you put music and anime girls crying together than I really have no defense. Also it was gigguk's video that finally got me to watch the show in the first place. Quality video from the only entertaining active youtuber. RIP demo D+ channel.

EDIT: I just went back and rewatched the gigguk video. Some things in it are even better if you have seen the show and it was nice to see that look back. His opinions are pretty similar to mine and I completely identify with the feeling of being less inspired by anime over time. When I was younger and anime was one of the few things letting me hang on in life there were all these new concepts and ideologies and perspectives that were new and interesting and made me reflect on my own world view and actions. Over time though you kind of get to the point where you feel like you've seen it all before. Every message is one you've already taken to heart at one point or another and it feels so much harder to find something that truly inspires you. I hope anime studios keep finding new ways to inspire me over the coming years. I could certainly use it.

I've only got overlord 2 from last season left now. Overall it was a pretty good season. Of course nothing compared to the current one that is frankly ridiculous. Whats surprising me is that even the new stuff I had no expectations of seems to be good. We got megalo box shaping up to be very good, GGO:A being very watchable and hinamatsuri looks to be really good as well. I'm gonna have like 10 things to watch when this season ends. Especially cause darling in the franx will end at the same time.

I'm honestly considering doing an experiment and watching this season live. Having just nothing to watch for 3 months at a time over and over sucks. I can't help but feel like the impact of a lot shows would be much less for me if I didn't watch it all at once but maybe I can drag out the motivational ones to get more use out of those. Good anime is like medicine for me and I feel like I'm forced to choose between having infrequent doses or doses that are too small to really be effective.

Dark souls is pretty great. Even made some videos on dark souls 3. Never played factorio. I wish I could go on a video game binge. My bank account has $1.33 in it and I'm too lazy to figure out how to pirate modern steam games. I did recently play flamebreak, a roguelike. It was fun. 100%d it and everything. I don't even know what the last thing I played besides league was. Video games as a medium has really been letting me down for a while.

Alright, I'm doing it. I'm watching shit live. Caught up on megalo box and GGO:A. Nothing much to say about megalo box. It was mostly a set up episode. GGO:A is still going pretty strong. I have to assume the singer kanzaki and the player pito are the same person. I would almost think it could be M as well but the tournament and concert are at the same time so that should be impossible. They've said the singer's name too many times for her not to be important to the plot unless its some kind of crossover with an actual singer but I haven't heard anything like that.

Might go for hinamatsuri next to round out the 3 new series that looked appealing. I'm not sure what I'll do with darling in the franx. So much has already aired I might just wait till the end but I'm not sure. Slowing down after marathoning 15 episodes might really kill the pacing.

I did realize there is actually another possibility for the singer though. This whole GGO:A thing is supposedly made to promote an upcoming 3rd season of regular SAO. Perhaps the singer could be an important character in that instead. I'm still betting on it being Pito but I can at least see another possibility now.

Watched episode 1 of golden kamui and felt it was ok ish. It didn't really suck me in and make me want to watch any more of it. I probably will watch more cause I know the source material is supposed to be quite hyped up but meh, I'm not really that excited about it.

Just read the manga. I doubt the anime would be successful enough to be more than 1-cour.

It's the berserk syndrome, anime don't got the time/money to make shit as detailed as the manga. Though I will say, there's a significant amount of action the manga that would clearly be more enjoyable in anime form, which is why I'm sure this anime was greenlit.

Thinking more about the GGO thing, I forgot LLENN asks Pito about music and is surprised she doesn't like it. I can see no reason the writer would include that if Pito wasn't the singer. I was kinda hoping they would hit the escapism angle a little harder with the plot set up they have.

As far as golden kamui it was more the story and the characters that didn't sell me. My feeling was why should I care if this guy hunts down this gold and there has got to be a much much easier way to get that woman to an american eye doctor. As for the girl she seemed totally fine not getting revenge so she just doesn't have any real reason to tag along. Like if main guy is willing to murder his way through a band of escaped criminals, just go find regular criminals with lots of money and kill a few them, take their shit, and there ya go. The whole thing could be solved in a weekend with much lower risk. There'd be a lot of manga I'd read before golden kamui (like berserk or vinland saga).

I went in blind and I'm 3 eps in. It's quite nice so far. Not what I was expecting from the title, but it's a good show, so I don't mind. Really, really, really want to watch Nanatsu no Taizai s2 right now though, but 2 more months of waiting for that one.

If you don't want to buy into the central conceit, then that's your loss. That applies to practically any work of fiction.

I think the first 3 episodes of the anime give a good showing of what the show is about. The 1st episode doesn't really do it.
