I have the five star ticket to use and Im wondering who I want to get. Right now I have Maria, Selene, and Artemia. Epis is in my inn and Ill have her in a few days.

These are not characters Im going to raise for a while so Im thinking of just saving it. All my dps options have their uw and there is a uw selector coming up too.

What's the last hero you can get on the selector if you scroll down? I remember it was limited but not sure if they changed it after they revamped the newbie rewards recently.

It really depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're trying to improve World Boss score then it looks like you are missing heroes who amplify damage. If you are looking for PVP improvement you don't have a solid Tank or Hero (Clause and Frey are fantastic for like everything but PVP). If you want to aim for soloing dragons then Gau is a solid pick (although only 4k rubies too if you're trying to maximize value)

Alternatively people on the Reddit will tell you 'If in doubt pick with dick'. You may be best waiting to see who turns up at inn after Epis if you're close to getting her

My main regret team building was that I did not make a solid PVP team so I top out at around Diamond 1/2 but that's not much of an issue as it takes hefty equipment investment or very meta teams to make Masters (Tank meta is least gear intensive way but requires certain heroes).

Also there's absolutely nothing wrong with sitting on a selector unless you're trying to push to get 12 heroes for LoH. I literally only just used my selector from anniversary yesterday (I got Sonia)

So just to clarify, even though this has the typical gacha nonsense of characters all having different star ratings, it's not the case that 5* characters will be the only ones worth anything end game like literally every other game like this?

Some of the best heroes in-game start 2*. They haven't introduced a new 2* Hero since the very early stages of the game so I assume they had different plans originally and then strayed from it

But yeah star rating has no relation to how good a character is and all of them can be promoted equally.

Phillop and Jane do similar things once Jane has her unique treasure. Phillop enhances phys damage, Jane magic damage. Phillop is really good for Dragon raids as he turns the Dragon away from the rest of the party.

Laias is exceptional for pretty much everything so is worth getting if you like her. She's very good in both PVP and raids

Vespa is very good at balancing heroes out too. Every hero has a use somewhere in the game for content or party build, and all heroes have their weaknesses as well. There is no "end all, be all" unit, and you can quite literally make anything work if you partner it correctly, which is why you'll get people telling you to "pick with your dick."

Long and short of it...

DAILY::
-Complete your dailies to get Rubies, everything involved in the game aside from Raids is there.
-Spend 500 Stamina a day for the 1500 stamina and 1.5m gold under Event Tab of Missions.
-Also in the Event Tab of Missions, use the Gold Boosters and Exp Boosters when you are playing.
-Use up all your Arena tickets on League of Victory every day. Win or lose, you get rewards, including currency to buy Unique Weapons.

WEEKLY::
-Clear as high as you can every week on Tower of Ordeals (Chapter 1) and Tower of Challenge (Chapter 2). Resets every Monday. These get your resources for improving your character and getting artifacts.

IN GENERAL::
-Clear each Chapter completely on Easy, Normal, and Hard, before moving on. Hell comes later.
-There is a Progression Quest log that rewards you as you progress through the game, you'll find it on the sidebar. When you complete a quest on it, your screen will say Quest Complete, and show you the next quest in progression.
-The Gacha element of the game comes from the Equipment Tab of the shop where you spend gold and rubies on gear.

Also push for 60 asap even if it means forcing potions down one person and having them way ahead of the rest temporarily. That unlocks world boss. Even if you die in 1 second, you get rewards that are always worthwhile and that can be done twice a day.

How do you get new heroes? Just story progression?

I see you can buy them for rubies but the price seems ridiculously high and implies you have to pay for that to be viable.

Hero's Inn is the main way to get them for free to play. 1000 Kinship heroes take about 2 week to unlock, 1200 Kinship take about 3 weeks. Every now and again there might be an event that gives you a Hero Ticket to unlock one, similar to the tickets you got when you started playing. Just make sure to hit the Inn every single day and spend your amity, gold, and free kinships.

If you keep doing your dailies and constantly play Arena though, you can outright buy them with Rubies easily. Vespa is actually VERY generous with Rubies. I am on Day 70 or so and had over 20k Rubies saved up just last week, and I haven't spend a dime on the game. Used 6k to buy a Hero that I had gotten their UW and UT for, and another 2100 for a Costume for them since I felt like splurging.

I still have over 12000 Rubies, and I've apparently spent 33,000 Rubies so far based on the achievement for spending them.

You get:

Clause for clearing Chapter 1 on Easy
A 2* Hero Ticket for clearing Chapter 1 on Normal
A 3* Hero Ticket for new player login bonus
A 5* Hero Ticket for new player login bonus

Past that your options are:

Buy with Rubies - Not usually worth it but they give out tons of rubies over time. I'm sat on 18k right now and have been playing for 78 days and have not been remotely frugal with my rubies (Bought 1 hero, use rubies for recharges daily, used rubies for special summons, bought a costume)

Through the Inn - Random hero shows up daily, if you start a relationship with them they join you once the meter is fill. Takes 18-21 days of daily visits. If you don't start a relationship the hero changes to another random hero at midnight. Only exempt heroes are NPC heroes (Gladi, May and Veronica) and New Heroes which take 6 weeks of release before they are eligible to appear

As a guide, I have 15 heroes after 78 days.

whats the big deal about arena? it seems like it will take me for freaking ever to get enough points to buy anything, and as far as I can tell, im not getting anything for losing...

You get points from Arena daily based on your overall ranking. You're looking at 600 points daily from ranking, 100 points from daily mission and 300 a week from weekly mission for even the worst of level 61 teams. Gold ranking and below is auto wins against offline teams, Plat is where you start seeing online teams. So even bad teams can make Plat 1.

Arena store is 30k for 1 UW. 27k if you have Gladi. So you're looking at around 6 weeks for a weapon with a bad team, like 4-5 weeks with an ok team. People in masters/challengers get once every 3-4 weeks if they have Gladi. It's not fast but it is basically a free UW a month for minimal effort.

Plus Rubies for Ranking as well.

Is auto-skill worth using? When I turned it on I seemed to do a lot worse, even though I dont really understand the skills I have and how to use them best.

"Most" heroes do just fine with AUTO on. You could probably do better if you microed your team, yes, but 90% of your damage comes from Auto Attacks anyways. There are, of course, exceptions. Ophelia, for example, should absolutely be microed due to the nature of her kit.

What really matters most is gear and the substats on said gear. The more awakened your gear, the better too. Almost everyone sans maybe the Tank should have Attack, Crit, Crit Damage, Attack Speed on as much of their gear as they can, with some Lifesteal and HP% sprinkled in and an MP Recovery Rune and Scroll or two. The Tank probably wants a bit more HP% and Defensive Stats, but Attack Speed, Lifesteal, and Attack/Crit/Crit Damage are still important too.

You won't really need to worry about gear too much until Chapter 5 or so. As long as you are running Hardest stuff you can AUTO, and doing some Dragon and Guild Raids every now and again, you should be able to get through the first 4 Chapters with minimal aggravation.

Yeah I never manual play except for challenge raids where it forces you to play manually (and I hate). If you want to make the higher tiers of PVP like high masters and challengers then you probably have to manual.

I kinda wish you could set auto and manual on a per hero basis.

Rodina is one of the most manual dependent heroes I think. Crow likely is too looking at his skillset.

Yeah the trick to that one is not taking a healer. It's the mini slimes exploding that cause the damage. So its basically a DPS check as they are immune to crowd control

One tank, 3 DPS that all AoE.

could only play minimally over the past week thanks to some pretty hardcore farming in a different game but i'm getting back into this

in my experience the auto mode got a lot better once i got some decent mana recovery...if you have an abundance of mana the ai's going to use all your skills in some order, and for a lot of heroes that seems to be 'good enough.' if you're heavily mana gated though they might just take forever to use a skill they really should be using.

anyway, right now my two damage dealers have unique weapons. should i try to get them for my whole main team of 4 first or should i try to awaken my primary dealer's (using epis)? not sure if it's just the base stats that go up or if the unique effect gets stronger too.

also i should probably try to find a guild, huh. i picked some random open one earlier but basically no one is in it and all i'm getting out of it is 3% more gold.

Attack Stat does get better as you star it up, however a max leveled 0* UW still has better attack than a 5* Dragon Weapon of the same tier. So, I would suggest getting a UW for all the heroes on your team that would make good use of it. If you aren't sure how reliant they are on their UW, you could look at the spread sheet tier list to help make a decision. Everyone should have a UW for PvP, but UW isn't necessary for all units in PvE.

The main advantage of UW over Dragon Raid weapons are the 3 rune slots instead of 1. Some people will get by with just a class UW though and for some people the class UW is actually the better option (very few though)

There's 2 types of events I've seen offered since I've played

1. Double drop rates on certain classes or new heroes

2. Pull X amount of times (typically 5/10/15/20) and receive a guaranteed award (Usually Infinity Stones > something > Artifact Ticket > UW ticket)

So people either save them and pull when one of the above events happens.

I have nyx in my inn. I know hes not viable until super late game. So Im thinking about skipping

I also have my unique weapOn choice comming up and Im considering giving it to epis as it would let me start to really level her up.

Nyx is useful in that he is the only Physical Damage Mage, and you don't know what's going to be in the Inn tomorrow. Who knows when you might be able to get another chance at him.

Epis is a good carry dps to get you through the game and will really make use of her UW. If you don't have hers yet, it is a good investment.

Is there a way to grind unique weapons, or is it all gacha?

Ways of obtaining a UW off the top of my head:

* Bought with 30000 Arena Points (27000 if you have Gladi). You can get ~5-6k points a week even with a bad team

* Crafted with 1000 UW Shards. You get 250 shards for every UW you grind (I.e. ones you don't want). Up to 4000 shards can be obtained from League of Honor achievements. Sometimes from World Boss chests (you get 2 a day). Very infrequently from Challenge Raids.

* 1x Random UW Ticket given out on login bonus Day 16 of every month

* Newbie Log-in bonuses gives out a Random UW Ticket plus a UW Ticket selector iirc.

* Login bonuses for total number of days logged in. I forget the exact pattern but they show up every now and again

* Random UW Tickets can be obtained from World Boss chests (like 1-3% per chest iirc and you get 2 a day)

* Occasionally they give them out for random reasons (Facebook like campaigns, etc.) or have events where you do X/Y/Z and obtain them

* The Gacha system

So they can't really be grinded hardcore as they are semi-gated like in the Arena but you definitely should be acquiring them at a decent rate. After 83 days I've acquired 18 UW's and have 2 UW Selectors sat in my inventory plus enough Arena points to buy 2x UW's too. So basically 22 UW's in 83 days and I'm sat on 20k Rubies right now so not like I blew my rubies to get them either.

I'd say after less than a month of playing you'll have a UW for every character you use plus some rotting in your invent for characters you don't have.

The real difficulty comes once you actually have UW's for people you like/want to use. At that point you kinda have to pick a DPS to truly invest in and try get their UW up to 3-5*.

Right now I'm on the edge in regard to investing heavily into Epis. On one hand she's one of the best all rounders in game. On the other hand, she's bordering on too good so might be nerfed. Plus I'm not a huge fan of her design.

Every patch cycle I basically wait to see if they're going to fix Reina because as soon as they do I'd fully invest in her,

1. Spend 500 stamina a day (at least).
-You get bonus stamina and gold and stamina when you spend stamina each day. 300 spent is the max for gold and 500 is the max for stamina. You need to collect it each day but you can continually stack it. If possible get to a level you can auto fight on without dying and leave it running on a secondary device. Spending like all your stamina on day 1 can get you up to character level 40+.

2. Choosing which heroes to get.
-You start with 4 heroes, Kasel (Bruiser), Roi (Single Target Burst), Cleo (AoE mage with dot), and Frey (Single Target Healer with shield and minor utility). In your first 10 days you'll get a 2, 3, 5 star ticket as well as Clause (Physical type tank). So you'll have 8 characters to choose from in 10 days. It's perfectly possible to get through the story mode with the starting 4 but I've found in tests around chapter 5 is when you really start to see issues. Now as for how to choose.

a. You have a unique weapon for a character
-Unique weapons are strong and have a unique effect that makes your character a lot stronger. It also has the benefit of that you don't need to keep replacing the weapon when you level up. You should always focus on getting a dps UW first. So if like you rolled a tank or healer uw that's not a good reason to pick a tank or healer with your ticket. But lets say you get Miruru's, that's a pretty good reason to pick her.

b. You need to fill a role or replace a character that you don't like/is under preforming.
-As a note, Frey and Clause are really good in pve imo and you can take them for most of the game for most content. Be sure to check the skills of each character first to see how they work before you choose them. Make sure that the new hero is actually doing what you need him/her to do. Like if you replace Cleo first and have roi on your team, you'll want someone who has AoE damage.

c. You like a characters design/like those "aesthetics"
-Since like Vespa seems to do balance changes all the time. OP heroes today are just pretty good heroes tomorrow.

3. Don't go overboard on gear from levels 1 to 50.
-In tests I've found that the leveling slowdown starts more at level 51, which is when I'd consider upgrading gear past like +5. With the new index achievements (which gives a ton of gold) I 100% just spammed normal summon gacha x10 until I fully geared my team and enchanted everything and still had like 20 million gold.

4. Don't use xp/gold booster scrolls until you at least you get your last newb free hero (day 10).
-This is because there are level caps based on star levels of your characters and raising those take resources. I'd say that 4 stars is something you'll likely need to get them to (100% 3 stars almost). But the resources needed for those are small and you get a ton of free materials for staring heroes up. However, the cost ramps up significantly so it's a shame to use them on characters you plan on replacing shortly. The only except is on the quest tab when it's the quest to use the booster.

5. Do as much of the quest tab as you can.
-The quest tab is on the left and it has a ton of nice free stuff like good free gear, materials, etc. Even though other ones are locked you can tap it to see what future ones are. Some of them revolve around limited entry stuff (like stockade) so don't spam dailies before you check to see if you could do one for a quest that day.

6. Use higher quality gear as enhancing material.
-If you've played other games like this you'll know you can use other items to enhance stuff. The amount you get per item depends on the base item and the one you are feeding it. The cost per item is based on the item that is getting fed. Higher level and quality items cost more to feed so it gets to a point where certain items are not cost effective to use as material. Make sure you lock any important items so you don't accidentally use those.

one thing that's not obvious: unlike other mobile games this one only takes your stamina (or other limited resource like an entrance key) once you actually clear a stage, so feel free to retry/quit out if you want to or make a mistake
