So Full Metal Alchemist released in 2003 and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood are on Netflix.

Which one is better and which one should i watch if not both?

If you could just stitch the first half of 03 to the 2nd half of brotherhood, that would be great

03 is worth it just for the funeral

03 is slower paced, but really spends more time exploring the emotional depth the settings circumstances. Darker. More dramatic. Better soundtrack. Plot diverges drastically from manga halfway through. Shitty final arc. 50 episodes

Brotherhood is a shonen, not a drama. Faster paced (pretty much the first half of 03 is crammed into thirteen episodes of Brotherhood). In a way it assumes you're already familiar with 03. More humor. Bigger scale plot. Way more characters. 65 episodes.

If you want to watch both watch 03 then Brotherhood, as doing the opposite might get really frustrating when you know how things will turn out and you're waiting on 03's more even pacing.
