wouldn't be so bad if that didn't have all of my dead fathers stuff on it as well as a boatload of pictures my mother had been taking to ease her mind with things(some including UFO's)

it was one of these desktop computers where the monitor is the computer and there's nothing else you gotta hook up(made by dell)

unsure if a virus took it out or what but it's boot up program got corrupted somehow and without a windows disc(this didn't come with one of course) reformatting it might be a little difficult

Maybe you can still boot in safe mode? Try tapping F8 right after the BIOS/logo screen goes away. Sometimes it's shift+F8. It should bring up a menu where you can choose safe mode. If it's really the boot loader then yeah you probably need that Windows disc. You could always get a live Linux distro and put it on a disc or USB and access your hard drive from there.

Is the hard drive removable? You might be able to recover the data if you connect its hard drive to another computer.

I don't think it is....like i said it's just a weird computer where the monitor itself is the computer

i don't think there's much of a hard drive in there

Assuming the computer has a free USB port, look into making a bootable Ubuntu thumb drive. It sounds way scarier than it is. It's helped me get into systems when they otherwise wouldn't boot, and allowed me to copy important files before formatting.

Just take the hard drive out. Just because it's an all-in-one doesn't mean it stores files by magic
