exclusively this

if clinton won and the meddling info came out they'd all be screaming to see what happened to create their own narrative that trump won and the russians stole the win from him for clinton

i say just do the due dilligence, identify the events and fix the problems in our electoral system so it doesnt happen again. we'll just undo any legislation passed by this admin via fiscal reconciliation after the next presidential election anyway

Do you think that is a just thing? Does it justify Russia meddling within our own election? How does this relate back to the original point? Or is it just a distraction to steer the conversation away from the obvious truth?

There is an old saying: What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

We done it for years to other countries under the guise of "National Interests" and putting puppets into power and now, somebody did it to us.

I'm not saying it's alright for Russia, or any other nation to interfere with another nations elections, but don't expect sympathy when you smack a bee hive and you end up getting stung.

That document has been crapped on so many times it's hilarious, the only people outside of the DNC who have even seen the server is a DNC connected IT firm that later retracted the Russia claim so ya no evidence of hacking at all.

Oh did you forget the FBI using opposition research that they knew was false to obtain warrants to spy on Trump, ya the intel community are really trust worthy LOL.

Only evidence of anything Russia related so far is 100k in face book adds which to be frank is bugger all.

According to those articles, Russia attempted to hack into the voter registration databases of 21 states, succeeded in a few, and nothing was altered.

"Hacked the election" indeed.

EDIT: Also, if you want real evidence of hard intervention, we'd be much better served talking about the facebook and social media ads bought to specifically divide the country along racial lines, which likely had a much bigger impact on the election than the supposed "hack" which itself wouldn't have impacted votes.

I wasn't aware that to what degrees Russia actually meddled was in dispute, to be completely honest. I thought the whole thing with the Russian meddling wasn't really that they "changed the votes" via hacking the voting machines, but that one of their own intelligence agencies retrieved info from the DNC and gave it to Wikileaks. So it was really more about creating propaganda, inflaming the bases, and controlling the narratives. As I understand it.

That's the thing though.. the voting machines are offline. They CAN'T be hacked. What Russia hacked were the voter registration databases in some states, which at worst could have been used to cause some people's names to not be in the books when they showed up on voting day. However, given that the vast majority of states use paper books and have humans check IDs at the door, this wouldn't have even impacted voting. It would be physically impossible without actually touching the machines after the votes had been cast from altering the results.

So you would prefer the US have an adversarial relationship with Russia?

I'm not disagreeing with you on the sanctions, but I find it strange that the basic dem position on Russia is "we should be treating them like an enemy." I fail to see how that goes anywhere other than another cold war. I mean, if we're going to go that route, China has been stealing intellectual property from the US for decades.. they should be our enemy too. Also the entire OPEC consortium which has been holding oil prices hostage for decades should be our enemy. The dem position on Russia is pretty inconsistent in terms of how they expect the US to react to a world power doing these types of things, because I think even the dems recognize that said mindset only leads to war.

You say that, and yet we're still actively fighting against Assad in Syria. Outside of the non-sanctions against Russia, what actual US actions abroad lead you to believe the US is explicitly pandering to Russian interests?
