I'm only up to episode 4 of season 3 but is it on purpose that basically every character in this show is insufferable and annoying? The only ones I actually like at this point are Saul and Hank.

I know everyone hates on Skyler and I can understand some of the things she did but she's so stupid. "I don't want to tell the world my husband is a drug dealer but I'll tell the whole world he has lung cancer against his wishes." Her reason for not sending him to jail is a terrible one. This whole drama with her and Walter's "divorce" and especially adding this whole affair with Ted is really annoying. It just makes me hate both her and Walter more because I hate cheating, this subplot sucks and there's other more interesting stuff going on.

And Walter is something else. So far he has no likable qualities like Skyler outside of sacrificing everything for his family but if he wasn't such a prideful dick then the whole situation would be spared.

So far this season is really hard to get through and it's a struggle to keep going when I really enjoyed 1 and 2.

Mike, Saul, and Gus are the best characters by far though.

Why wouldn't you want your main character to be likable? And I'm not at a point where he's become a drug kingpin and I'm just judging him on what has been shown so far. Maybe once he gets to that point I'll like him but for now he's part of the reason this season is so hard to get through.

I don't care if he's a good person or not. I don't find him entertaining at all right now which is what I mean by likable. The only characters I actually think are entertaining right now are Saul and Hank. Everyone else is just a bore at the moment.

Hanks wife was the most annoying and pointless character in the show.

10 years old does not automatically equate to "dated". everything about the show is still extremely fresh.

that's like saying The Wire is dated. Or Game of Thrones is dated cuz it's going on for 8 years. like lmfao, some people man.

The Wire is pretty dated.
Game of Thrones can't be dated cause it doesn't take place in the real world.

Dude, they're using fucking flip phones. The show is old lol. I don't think it's dated though.

Anyway, I did enjoy season 1 and 2. Season 3 is just really hard to get through right now. They took whatever entertainment the show was giving and just threw it out the window so Skyler could seem more important than she actually is when she's been consistently one of the worst characters. I liked seeing Jesse and Walter bond and it was nice to see Walt try to help him out of his drug addiction after Combo died.

I don't want it to seem like I'm hating on Skyler only though. Walter has been pretty bad himself this season as well. I want to see him be more of a hardass drug lord.

I thought they were gonna do something about her shoplifting to make it seem like everyone in the family is fucked up but that was just thrown aside so Skyler could go on with her holier than thou attitude and it's never heard from again.
