Further the whole, natural vs. unnatural stance is moot. Do you regularly avoid plastics? Refuse to wear polyester?

For your first point please dont point to animals as examples of natural homosexuality because most gay animal cases seen are rape to prove dominance, nothing cute or even a little romantic and nothing like human gay people

Talking to my friends who have to manage their public identities with people's expectations of them, a lot of them think people who say this are reductive, presumptuous assholes. And they'd say that because this is a common homophobic-lite conversational cliche.

But they (and certainly I) can't speak for all lesbians.

I've met a lot over the last few years, who I knew for a fact were lesbian:

- somewhat surprisingly, they usually seem to have pretty warped/biased views on gay guys, although they're usually kinda tight-lipped about it
- a lot of the ones I've met have been bisexual (even if they themselves said they were lesbian) or were 'formerly' straight - have met a ton of moms with multiple kids who are currently lesbians
- so far the only gold star lesbians I've met seem to be fairly terrible people - act very butch/masculine (regardless of what they look like) and are fairly rude - always got an attitude complex - I'm sure there are some chill ones out there, but I personally haven't met them; also gold star lesbians seem to be extremely aggressive with making moves on other chicks, mainly because they don't have any real fear of retribution of getting called out for being a dick like a guy would

That's just my experience though.

I think it's hot. I haven't met many lesbians that aren't total jerks, but one I knew was pretty awesome, we would have become close friends had her wife not been weird about the whole situation.

This doesn't mean they are bisexual. We are and were in a time when it was still not fully acceptable to be gay. You still have people getting shunned, kicked out, and shamed for being gay. It isn't easy and sometimes both men and women go through the normal motions in life denying their sexuality because it's easier to play straight. In fact, this is more common than you probably realize.

Yeah, that is quite common. Also have people who are with the opposite gender at first as that is what is considered "normal" and they haven't yet figured themselves out yet.

Also get plenty of people who shame bi people for "being cowards" and "not picking" so can't win no matter what really.

I've found is a lot of contempt, sadly (when bigotry shows up anyway, I haven't experienced it THAT commonly thankfully) and people thinking we are just saying it to fit in better and be more accepted. It kinda sucks, but I don't think it is done out of genuine malice from lgbt people, but rather their own mistreatment making them jaded and bitter. Seeing someone similar faring better upsets them, maybe?

I could see how in some examples it's do with with societal perception and how that changes your life experience.

For example if you're a man who identifies as "bisexual" because you sometimes hook up with guys, but you still mostly only date women and pursue straight serious relationships, it's not really like you're dealing with most of the difficult issues that homosexual men deal with. I think maybe it's because bisexuals have (or perceived to have) an "out", and we can agree it shouldn't be seen that way but it does mean the experiences will differ.
