I would have voted for the lightsaber climax in '99, but looking back on it now I've got to go with The Saga Begins; nothing else has held up as well.

The actual scenes are hot garbage but the concept is cool and I should have included it as an option, because it inspired Star Wars Episode I: Racer. That's my bad.

The podrace for sure, one of the few scenes of that trilogy that feels inspired and alive. Star Wars is best when it lets the sound and fury tell the story and not the dialogue (with the exception of ESB)

It doesn't "redeem" shit, but Duel of the Fates was the best thing to come out of that pile of Bantha Poodoo.

Picked the second option because, even though they kinda sucked in this movie, Ewan McGregor turned out to be a great casting choice and was the star of II and III.

I mean, I wouldn't say 1 thing. Duel of the Fates and Darth Maul were both pretty good. The fight in the laser room was really good. Podracing also had its moments. In addition, the settings were actually really good. It also introduced the separatists pretty well, didn't make us assume we knew what they were, but never had us questioning why we had a droid army in Star Wars.

The music is the only really good part of the prequels, so I voted Duel of the Fates. Don't much care for the overly choreographed lightsaber duels though.

When rewatching the series early this year, I told myself to pick out at least one positive thing for each prequel movie besides the music. For Phantom Menace I chose the Naboo starfighters. They just look cool, and I believe they were still practical effects back then which I've always considered better than CGI.

For me the true sole redeeming aspect of Episode 1 was its epic feel/ambitiousness.

I'm legitimately trying to think of a scene in this movie that I liked - really, honestly - and coming up blank. I just can't think of anything. Not a character, or a plot idea, or a location, or even like, a single line. There's nothing. Nothing about this movie is good.

Okay, no, I've got one thing. I like the Gungan city. I think it looks cool. I like that setting.
