It was gonna be simple boy and his blob clone (a reedus and his fetus) but Sony wanted more cinematics so they bouht Kojima who added aliens to the game. the game play is you feed skittles to the baby and he gets new powers from the skittle like time travel if you feed the purple skittle and they' adding reese's pieces on micro transaction. Haha oh god, microtransactions aside, I'm glad they decided to make the gameplay more in-depth than something like a boy and his blob.
