Via the NFL rulebook:

If a fumble or backward pass by any player goes out of bounds, the game clock starts when an official places the ball at the inbounds line, and the Referee signals that the ball is ready for play.

While Flaccos fumble was accidental, the idea of the rule is to protect from players intentionally fumbling out of bounds to stop the clock. For example, imagine Flacco knew the sack was coming and realized he wouldnt be able to pass downfield, so he rolled the ball out of bounds.

Apparently, the Ravens didnt know the rule, though. The team attempted to huddle while the clock ticked down to zero and ended the game. Now they know

Ben became the first QB in history to put up three 500 yard games in NFL history. Seriously though 44-66 for 506 is pretty unsustainable.

Brees is the only other QB to even have two.

the Bears losing to the Browns would not be a shocker at all even if they had beaten the Patriots today instead of just the Bengals

the Bears are bad and while the Browns are worse they're not THAT much worse

I'm looking forward to next year for the Bears. Mitch having a full offseason as the starter, Meredith hopefully coming back healthy, stocking the receiving corps a bit, and building off the many solid rookie performances (Mitch, Cohen, Shaheen, Jackson, Robertson-Harris). And hopefully not losing 50 players to IR. They need an elite passrusher to be opposite of Leonard Floyd. Though even Floyd can't stay healthy, McPhee's best days are behind him, and no one else can stay healthy or is good enough.

I have hopes for this team next year though. Just have to stay healthy and give Mitch some weapons. Oh, and a new head coach would be appreciated as well!

Edit: Also, I fully anticipate the Bears losing to the Browns. I was praying they would beat the Packers, just so that the threat of going 0-15 wouldn't be there (and to laugh my ass off at the Pack of course). Even though the Bears basically shut down AJ Green (with help from Dalton not throwing well), I expect Josh Gordon to murder them.

And we're still a game ahead of the Gulls. How nice it would be to pretty much knock them out of the playoffs in Fake Noise Stadium next week.
