I cannot sing this guy's praises enough. It's very impressive just how good his kit can be, and how easily he can slot into any team. His support options are good enough that unless you need one very, very specific unit, he's just so much better than a lot of them because he can do anything in an emergency. I usually bring him for one purpose, and I wind up using at least one or two of his other skills just because he's available.

her best setup is still likely dagger + rod, especially if you've dark fina's TMR.
switching her to that dagger will mean:

1) she's dealing dark damage
2) she's technically weaker because the rod bonuses are better than +30% MAG setups. i'm not sure what +40%+ MAG exists that doesn't need rods, apart from Adventurer V.

but if you've got Dark Veritas, Delita/his TMR, or Dark Knight Cecil, even though she's technically weaker she'll chain with them/take advantage of the dark imperial.

What are the best units you don't use even though they would likely improve your main team?

I find myself not using zargabaath a whole lot even though he's a great support.

And i basically don't use earth veritas even when he's a better option than warrior of light.

In my catalog it's Fry and Aileen.

Mostly because I want her firepower over 950 before I use her. (Which I am not expecting to reach until Ifrit 3*)

Aileen I can't use until either enhancements, champion belts or 7* hits due to restrictions.

Tidus and Aileen rarely make it into my teams (this is the first time I've used Aileen, though I just got her a few weeks ago). Really liking her so far, but even after her enhancements I don't think I'll be using her a ton. I really like using Fryevia and Dark Veritas as my DPS, it's kind of become the default for me. I know Tidus and Aileen will both do a lot more than DV after enhancements (if they don't already), but he's so versatile and has an awesome sprite. Fry just wrecks everything.

Do mind Aileen needs to be in 4# & 6# for optimal set up, and even then there are enemies with wonky hit boxes.

Plus both of them benefits from a 25 lv LB anyway.

And for us Europeans, prepare for a very early maintenance. (5am in my case.)

The team I use most often is Ace/2B/WoL/A2/Ayaka.

Which means Im consistently leaving Orlandeau, Randi, Wilhelm, Dark Veritas and Tidus at home.

I think for me it's that I feel like I have too many options, so rather than make changes, I just stick with what works.

Units that I have that have never seen battle include:
Veritas of the Dark
Dark Fina
Trance Terra
Queen

And that's just the 5* bases.

Fryevia is seeing less and less playtime even.

I use pretty much some combination of:
Ayaka
Rikku
Marie
Warrior of Light
Ace
A2
2B
Orlandeau (still sees some use, but not nearly as much as the others above)

Dark Veritas
Orlandeau

I have Ace, Wilhelm, and Onion Knight that could feasibly be on the top team, but I haven't gotten around to getting the proper gear for them. Wilhelm can probably replace WoL since I got his enhancements.

Since Gumi started early with 4* tickets at King Mog events this means we might see certain materias, DC/DW/DH/30% HP/ etc, appear at them in rotation.

But only one at a time.

Marie seems like someone I should probably use at some point, but I haven't bothered awakening her yet. I think I have enough materials for her abilities, but I reaaaaaally don't want to spend that much gil on her.

Also Zargabaath, I guess. Only pulled him like a week ago, though, so I'll probably give him a chance at some point.

Effort-wise she is worth the cost of admission with her kit since you can be selective without losing out on efficiency unlike Queen the money sink....

Zargabaath is best built as support due to his subpar offensive capacities.

I don't doubt it. I've only been playing for about two months, though, and I also have Trance Terra to worry about, so gil is a struggle. Don't think I'll ever invest in Queen, unless I get a dupe and the 7* is a big improvement.

Her 7* is a substantial improvement if you can get her going.

But that's something left to consider if you get dupes at some point.

The 3 4* tickets you can buy in KM will be 2k/6k/12k.

Rem and WKN have partial revealed enhancements. (Dagger Boomerang, Bring It On and Glacial Wave.)

And a reminder to keep at least 5k lapis ready for potential end of year rainbow. Ideally 20k in total since the type banners also carries a guaranteed first pull if they drop them soon.

Rainbow ticket pieces are expensive from the little I can I recall when they drop however...

Enhancements probably next week, which would be in line with how they did them for the Halloween event.

20% bonus on Lapis purchases, which isnt a bad deal but I dont think anyone here just straight up buys Lapis anymore (and no one here cares about Cloud that much).

He is good, but the effort is him+2Elfreeda. You might as well use some other finishers.

However, the bulk of his damage is from the last hit on Omnislash. (30 stones, which takes about 3 turns to charge. 7 per turn with the set up. Plus his counters.)

But the rainbows from this banner are very worthwhile for several 7* units.

Unit wise you should look out for are CG Sakura(Lina Inverse.), CG Fina(Black White Ayaka), CG Lid(Breaker of heavens) and CG Nichol. (Bard 2.0.)

And a chainer that fits what you got now if you don't have anything really good going.

Like Lila the SPR converted to ball stomper, Sephiroth, Hyou. Etc.

uhm i DO care about Cloud that much

Cloud is really, really good. And that deal, combined with buying lapis with amazon coins probably makes just buying normal lapis a decent deal if you are going to buy at all.
