I really really think they changed course with Roman and Brock.

(Unless they want him to win both belts....)

Even if it's a cheap loss, there just isn't any reason whatsoever after you've protected him this much for a year you would have Roman lose a match before beating Brock...

This is my hope. Maybe it'll end up being Strowman after all, but then Trips would have to step aside. I doubt he'd consider Jason Jordon a worthy Mania opponent.

But I think another reason it hurts is that it doesn't give these lowercard guys anything to fight for since creative can't make any decent feuds with them.

He's not dropping it. (Unless he forfeits it)

It's either gonna be Champ vs Champ or Braun vs Lesnar.

If it is Lesnar vs Roman he will not lose a single match till Mania

Just watched the Paige return on YouTube. Whose fucking idea was it to bring up Sonya DeVille and Mandy Rose already? They seemed so lost out there. Like, they're probably greener than everyone down there except for Aaliyah who is hopeless. Why would you not keep them down there for longer? I mean, this may work out after months of this if they pick up a lot from working every night with Paige, Bayley, and Sasha, but man. I don't get this.

Remember when secondary titles were around to help put over new talent?

Me neither.

Granted, Roman having it is no different than Miz having it, honestly. It just feels wasted on them. Give it to some lower card guy so they can get a little exposure.

Can't always have it on a lower card guy to elevate them. Then the belt loses its feel of being a championship and it stops elevating people because everyone will figure out it's just the push belt, aka "now that you have this, it's obvious to everyone that you're actually gonna be a world championship contender someday."

Sometimes you gotta put that championship on someone already established, because it will become a more important title. Then when one of those lower card guys gets the belt, he joins the ranks of some really great pro wrestlers and THEN he can be elevated.

I understand that it's been a while since it's been on one of those lower card guys, maybe close to two years at this point, and that it should be put on someone that needs it more than Reigns or Miz. But just keep in mind that this will probably help the belt and make it feel even more important as a championship when they eventually do take it off the guys that are already established.

This. Miz harping on about making it a big deal loses impact if Apollo Crews is coming after it. But if he insists it's a big deal, and then somebody like Reigns actually wants it? It builds it up more.

Now, they obviously need to use it to elevate somebody pretty soon, but this was a good call.

They've only done this one other time that I know of, which was when Cena was US champ preparing to face JBL at WrestleMania 21. JBL interferes and costs Cena the US title against Orlando Jordan (who aside from a somewhat catchy entrance theme was dull as fuck his entire career), then Cena goes on to beat JBL clean in less than 10 minutes at Mania.

It's not hard to have someone like Edge, RVD, Kane, Booker T, Jericho, etc fight for the belt. Upper carders... Then you occasionally put it on a Warrior or Reigns or Triple H, and the belt looks like it matters. Cause it does.

When you have stuff like AJ Styles showing up to wrestle at a Raw PPV, it kills the entire idea IMO

That being said, because of that appearance, AJ should be on a legit 5-PPV streak after the Rumble which in this era is impressive
