Took a quick nap on the couch sitting sideways with one leg bent on the couch and the other hanging off it.

Suddenly I hear a woman giggle as she puts a blanket on me from behind. I swear I felt the warmth.

She then kisses the back of my neck in a motherly fashion and just holds me.

Now my mother is very much alive so its not some desire to feel maternal love again. Out of all my SP moments this was the most "enjoyable".

I normally just have demons and old ladies trying to suffocate me :/

I think yours is a lot creepier though.

Last time I heard children break into my apt thru the kitchen door and start giggling demonically behind me.

I've learned to logic/ sleep thru my paralysis moments now.

I realized I wouldnt hear their laughs so clearly if they were behind me as there is a wall between the corridor and the couch.

But sometimes no logic can save you and struggling never works. Gotta just shut the eyes and hope this isnt a real demon.

Wiggle them toes and focus on them. It's the fastest way out of SP in my experience. It also keeps me from feeling panicked when I do snap out of it.

Except for one time, but I had other reasons to be seeing things then so...

I have horrible sleeping and stressing myself out habits, which don't seem that uncommon here.

It happens when your stressful before sleep or fighting yourself trying sleep.

I used to get it a lot when I went to my girlfriends house. The after sex cuddling and nap was stressful because I knew her dad could come back home on his lunch break if he chose to.

I'd hear footsteps right out the door. I'd struggle to wake up or to get her attention but to no avail.

I've had that too. Reminds me of when a video game renders a character far away and you see them awkwardly be placed where they should be

yall freaking me out

this shit is srsly so fucked up lol. I can't tell you how many different ones I have, the worse ones are.... awaking, and just, all I can do is panic and look around the room while its dark, and in the end, can only put the cover over me head, to stay safe and sleep........ More variations of that can happen. Sleep is so genuinely creepy.

Only got it once. Giant spider (like australian funnel web looking) started slowly crawling up my body starting at my feet. I was struggling so hard to move but nothing would happen. It slowly made it's way up my body. I could feel every leg as it moved slowly towards my face. Up my legs, onto my chest. It was on my neck and reaching out towards my face when i finally snapped out of it.

Was pretty terrible. I don't even have a problem with spiders and regularly catch and release ones i find. But this was pretty horrifying

It probably has to do with the sense of panic that hits when you can't move your limbs or speak.

It's also more likely to happen if you sleep on your back and/or you have a weird sleep schedule

Thats true too. I worked the evening shift and would sleep at 2am. And now i do some overnights and go to bed at 7am.

SP is a lot more common than people think. Especially for people who tend to have vivid dreams and can remember them.

Unfortunately happens to me but it's always boring. Room just ends up blurry or its pitch black. Twitch around until I wake up. I haven't had a scary one for years since I realize what's happening which prevents me from getting scarred and thinking up cool ass demons.

More of my dreams are lucid than aren't. I even argue with people in the dreams about whether or not I'm dreaming.

I've never gotten "the hag" who sits on your chest. I've gotten shadow people a couple times (one was EXTREMELY vivid and demonic), and one time I had some kind of dead girl hanging from the ceiling and "statically twitching" like a broken tape recording.

I haven't had any lately, but the most recent ones were all auditory. Usually a looping continuation of whatever I was dreaming before waking up.

No, it's not rare at all.

Also you're the one who says you have no internal monologue whatsoever. That would be rare and honestly I have no idea how you even function like that.

One time I dreamt of a party of coworkers or something. It was a formal setting.

Then I told one person this is a dream. Suddenly they all turned to me and looked at me angrily. They made no threats but I clearly upset them.

I never got how the hag was so common either. Personally, I never saw her until I started reading about SP. Before that it was always a group of five demons (plus one if I could see a window) that would examine different parts of my body and make weird noises.

I think one of the scariest I had was when I was asleep on my side.

Some demon thing cuddled up behind me and grabbed my arm. I actually saw its hand. So by that I imagine what it looked like.

Think of Daedric armor but drawn by a four year old who scribbled it out with black crayon. The hand looked sharp like the gauntlet but frayed.

I couldn't logic out. So i tried to sleep but it grabbed my and said "I wont let you."
