How can I change water with out sucking my fry ? I am thinking about using a do-rage to cover up the intake so only water can get in. But then the dirt can crap will not get sucked up. I really don't want to kill any fry.

I'd prioritize fry over filtration, and get them moved into a nursery box asap. Gather them up and put them in the netted top of the tank away from the dangers of the filter intake. You will lose some, but taking the right steps now will ensure the life of the young.

Also, if you are using a siphon hose to do your water change, sacrifice the gravel vac and just take from the surface area of the water where little to no little ones travel.

Wow I have a lot of fry in there. I guess last time my fish had fry a lot of them were eaten since I don't remember having so many . I guess the crap at the bottom is just going to have to stay. I might get a catfish to try to eat it up.
