Do you think this scene should just be removed?

Call Of Duty: WW2 is set to be released on November 3rd but an apparent RAPE SCENE had to be altered by Activision after there was outrage that the scene was included as Australia has demanded it be changed...but all they did was change the female victim's outfit from a skirt to PANTS!!

The game centres around the Nazi takeover of Europe and violent nature of the German death camps but one particular scene of a female spy being raped by a Nazi soldier has caused controversy as the player is given an OPTION in that scene on what to do during that scene to the Nazi..

While at no point is the actual sexual assault is witnessed by the player, the implications are so obvious that Activision had to alter the scene before resubmitting the game to the Classification Board for review.

With these new changes, it's able to keep a rating of 18+ for "high impact violence and online interactivity"

The altering received mixed reviews about whether the changes were warranted as one person said the game was for adults and not for kids so it was "unfair" while another person said this use of sexual violence to evoke an emotional response in video games is lazy, exploitative and disrespectful.

Do you think this scene should be removed?

No they didn't.

https://www.kotaku.com.au/2017/10/activision-changed-a-call-of-duty-ww2-scene-for-australia/

Earlier this week, people noticed something odd about the classification rating for Call of Duty: WW2 in Australia. It was first rated R18+ in August, and rated R18+ again on Monday.

So why did Activision ask the Classification Board to re-rate the game in the first place?

If you filter the recent decisions on the Classification Board's website, you can see one small difference in the rating for COD: WW2. Namely, the inclusion of "threat of sexual violence":

Obviously, this was referring to something in the campaign. But what changed? I emailed the Classification Board, and they replied that Activision had submitted a modified version of COD: WW2.

"On 13 October 2017, Activision Publishing applied to the Australian Classification Board to classify a modified version of the game Call of Duty: WWII," the board said via email. "On 17 October 2017, the Australian Classification Board classified the modified game R 18+ with consumer advice of 'High impact violence, online interactivity'."

They didn't want "threat of sexual violence" on the box. Even though that should probably be in regardless thanks to the multiplayer.

Voted yes because it was probably produced for "look how terrible the nazis are" shock value rather than any real artistic merit

If they raped woman to produce 30,000 aryan children during the war I'm sure they would do the same to a female spy.

Why does it need artistic merit beyond showing the horrors of war? Last I checked, spies who get caught aren't always treated well.

You didn't necessarily have to shoot the people for the mission to progress.

There was plenty of media outrage and the developer put in the option to completely skip that mission.
