The Sheriff's office in Florida is warning people who dress up as "creepy clowns" on Halloween because of the horror hit "It" could get them BEATEN UP or even KILLED...and if that happens then the person that attacked or killed them was in the RIGHT!! They claim that if any clown makes any kind of threatening gesture to people, then that person has a right to "defend" themselves and to "stand their ground" to attack back..even if it results in DEATH!!

A statement released said "Officers will not be there to save you if your intended target defends himself or herself. Warning to evil clowns and anyone considering creepy clown activity". They even said that anyone dressing up as evil clowns could face PENALTIES as well!!

They went on to describe a terrifying moment at 7am when an 11 y/o boy cycling to Pine Ridge High School was startled by a clown who jumped out from a bush and tried to grab him

The clown was 5'9 with blue clown hair, rainbow painted face, red foam nose, a green long sleeved shirt, black pants and black boots

No physical contact was made by the fear of that clown but the kid grabbed a metal "selfie stick" and WHACKED that clown multiple times...he told how the clown began chasing him a short distance and then tripped and fell and went back into the bushes and out of sight.

Clown sightings have increased since the movie "IT" came out which is the highest grossing horror film of all tie and now that October is here, police fear that more scares like this will lead to attacks..and possibly deaths

Do you think this statement is outrageous?? let's see what people think

So all's he said is If someone attacks you, you have the right to defend yourself.

Well, at least until lawyers and public opinion sink their rabid teeth into you.

My problem with this is that "Threatening gesture" is pretty vague and where is the proof of such a gesture? It is Halloween, this could just as easily apply to anyone out in a costume someone might find scary.

i don't think most people who want to dress up as a creepy clown are running around chasing strangers and hiding in bushes. this warning applies to the idiots who yell "it's just a prank, it's just a prank!!" after they start getting their asses beat for doing something socially unacceptable.
