I'd have to say the episode where she guilt trips Homer for stealing cable. I think this is hard one to beat. She's white knighting for the cable companies... and she's not even the commissioner of the FCC.

It is not ethically wrong. That's not why I find it annoying. She's focusing on defending probably one of the worst industries in America. That's what is annoying about it. There is a million other ethical lapses Homer does on a routine basis that she could have taken a better stand on. She picks the cable companies. This also deprives Bart of boobs and that's fucking sick.

uh... it's a cable TV show. They're going to protect their own interests. The whole "don't steal cable" thing was pretty big

Learn2America, it's not on cable. And that kind of message would be the antithesis of what The Simpsons is about anyway. They are known for having a pretty strong amount of creative freedom without a lot of corporate meddling. Also, they make jokes at Fox's expense all the time

oh, here that wasn't OTA

We got the Simpsons re-runs on CBC which was OTA

Either way I am not surprised to see a television character that is opposed to any and all rule breaking advocating paying for television services

This, other than the classroom scene where they're watching the video starring Troy McClure which ends with Ralph saying he wants to go to Bovine University.

That episode came out over 25 years ago, though. Cable was a luxury at that point, and the companies weren't these giant corporations that had regional monopolies. Now they offer services like internet that are basically a necessity.
