The only show in the above list I hate is Family Guy, so this is tough... I'd probably go with South Park though, honestly, though Futurama would be a close second, then probably The Simpsons or Bob's Burgers.

Futurama. South Park is good too, because Matt and Trey are usually making really intelligent jokes or points that go right over the average viewers head because they are disguised as dick and fart jokes.

I don't see anything wrong with Family Guy, in small usages it's a hilarious show to go to sleep to. But I prefer the older episodes when it was just mindless funny... trying too hard to be serious in Family Guy ends up not working well.

My beef with FG stems from the fact it's basically a show of "memberberry jokes" and is super dumb... The South Park episodes mocking it were bang-on.

One of the best things about South Park is that they'd get complaints from censors, make it worse, resubmit it, and have it approved... Even the title of the movie was forced to change but made into a dick joke that slipped right by the MPAA.

Yeah, I love it... My grandpa was basically a German Hank. There were so many similar personality traits between them, right down to weird specifics like the episode where Hank gets a pimp hat and doesn't realize what it is.

^ Make an anime poll

All the shows listed here have one thing in common, the first few seasons were the best.. except maybe King of the Hill which always remained consistant

Which TMNT are you referring to?

Anyways, Archer should be on the poll.

Is Archer really "long running"? I don't consider a show with 3 seasons or something to be in the same category as The Simpsons.

toss up between family guy and american dad I guess. american dad is a great replacement once family guy starts feeling old to me. basically the same show with different characters.

It has as many seasons as Bob's Burgers iirc.
The ninth season is currently in production.

TMNT shouldn't count as long running when it is split into multiple series.

Archer and Bobs Burgers have 8 each

Oddly enough, isnt Bob Burgers a spin off of Archer?

I didn't know Archer OR Bob's Burgers had that many. Interesting.

But, I think Bob's Burgers just has the same voice actor because Jon Benjamin is amazing (mostly a fan from Home Movies), I don't think the show itself is related in anyway, though?

I think they just made the one time joke in an Archer episode. I don't believe they're actually related besides the voice actor.

In Archer they did this scene based in the restaurant, complete with the entire Belcher family, I thought someone thought it was a good idea and turned it into the show *shrugs*

Probably not if they've been running for the same amount of time

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand South Park. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of current politics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. Theres also Cartmans nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that theyre not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike South Park truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldnt appreciate, for instance, the humour in Cartmans existential catchphrase Respect my authoritah!, which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenevs Russian epic Fathers and Sons. Im smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Matt and Treys genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

DB + DBZ + DBS have a special place in my heart. If I can overstep on the idea a bit and just lump "Gundam" into one category I'd do that as well even if a lot of it is bad. Hunter x Hunter as well given that there would still be anime of it happening if Togashi didn't have such a shitty back/whatever is wrong with him.

The Simpsons is what I voted for though. It started getting a bit into silly premises (though still with quality writing) around seasons 9-10 and then episodes started getting really spotty after that. But the highs were so high that despite almost 20 seasons of trash heaped on the good stuff it's still worth voting for as the best animated series ever.
