I know its not much but at least take comfort that you were there for him in his last moments. I lost my first cat when he was 4 to feline leukemia. I found him... Its better to be with them even though its very hard to go through. And at least he had a good home with someone who cared for him very much. Anyway, sorry to hear that TC. I've lost many a cat in my lifetime, and yeah it sucks. It definitely will hurt at the start, and I don't think you should try and hold it bad. Crying and feeling sad makes sense. Over time though it gets better and you remember them fondly.
