10. I tried a durian for the first time ever this year after hearing about its legendary odor. I unironically enjoyed the taste of it, which is much better than the smell of the freshly cut shell. I just think think they're really cool cuz it's a giant spiky soccer ball of a fruit that periodically falls and injures people.

9. Bananas are really cool in that they're one of the few foods that comes with a built-in handle. They have a bad habit of going from really tasty to gross overnight though. I should note I'm not including plantains since they're culinarily-speaking a vegetable. (If I were, they'd be way higher)

8. Raspberries are just a cool, tasty, all-around good berry. They're easy to grow and have a lot of neat varieties that are fun to pick right off the plant.

7. Limes are legitimately one of the best smelling things on planet Earth. If ranked by scent, limes would be #1. But unfortunately as an edible item, rated solely as a fruit, they're outclassed by some others since they're more used as a flavor or an ingredient rather than just being eaten on their own.

6. Starfruits are so neat looking! Seriously, they're shaped like a star. And not even vaguely, it's a clear-cut star shape. That's cool enough but they also taste really good too.

5. Blueberries, like raspberries, are just great berries perfect for eating straight off of the bush. Plus besides that they're one of the few naturally blue fruits out there, and are really healthy for you.

4. Strawberry. Come on. It's strawberries. You can't not like these things. A good strawberry just tastes like candy. Also, they're a major part of my favorite dessert of all time.

3. Pineapples are really awesome because despite being really bizarre as far as fruiting plants go, they taste awesome and are really versatile to cook with. Best of all is like, it's impossible to screw up a pineapple. I feel like I've never had a bad one; they're basically all good.

2. Watermelons are basically the official food of Summertime. Everyone can wax nostalgic about eating them during the best months of the year. No party in mid-July is complete without them. On top of being delicious though, they're also really good for you too, so they're just all around good guys.

1. Apples are flat out the best fruit ever created. They can be cooked a billion different ways in both sweet and savory dishes, are great for you, taste AWESOME, and are basically the Fall equivalent of watermelon in that no Autumn is complete without freshly picked apples. But most important of all, apples create cider. The best fruit makes the best drink.

No cherries or peaches? Those two are my favorites.

Oranges would be too but they are way too messy.

The best tasting fruit imo is pomegranate, but fuck the long, arduous process of getting the arils out of its skin. And the already-plucked packages you can get in stores taste like whatever chemical they use to preserve them.

Peaches would definitely be #11. They're too variable to be in Top 10 though. Like, for every absolutely awesome peach I've eaten, I've also had a gross one too.

Cherries are too much pit, too much work to eat. Same reason I'm not a fan of oranges. There's too much involved in trying to eat them or use them for cooking.

I was actually thinking this earlier today (ranking fruit) and also considered your top 3 to be the best bets. Blackberries and tangerines would also rank high, with blueberries being overrated.

The ones at Trader Joe's are pretty solid

I'll give them a try. I don't go to Trader Joe's often, but they've got pretty quality stuff. The best honey I've ever eaten was from there.

Blackberries are delicious, but unless you're fortunate to have the thornless, non-invasive varieties growing near you, those things are a pain in the ass. They're nasty motherfucks.

Pomegranates are pretty good, but yeah, they're borderline impossible to actually enjoy. It's like nature played a cruel practical joke on humans by making them simultaneously one of the best tasting foods, but one of the hardest to eat foods.
