Japan's does look like it was inspired by mecha anime but I think the tripod design will make it pretty sturdy. It doesn't look like it's all looks.

Japan's bot has a TON of exposed wires while America's looks more heavily armored. But Japan's also looks a lot more mobile compared to America's top-heavy bot.

Our robot looks super unstable. It could be tipped backwards easily. Way too top heavy and way too small of a base.
