Like, who is paying for this bile? It is a bunch of low-effort shit aimed at 12 year olds. Like, they pump millions of dollars into this stuff, and it still manages to feel campy and low-budget. Example:

They're just trying to copycat along Netflix Orignals. Same as Amazon original series. Same thing like shooter multiplayer games for the past 3 or so years.

Yeah, they are very obviously just trying to sell people shit with "famous" names on it. I hate what youtube has become. They never should have started paying content creators.

Yeah, but Netflix produces content that is unique, award-winning, and rivals feature-length films in quality. Youtube Red content looks like something a film undergrad student made in their garage.

Or this one. Could they have come up with anything more generic, trite, and dripping with teen angst? It is so cringey. It literally feels like a joke/parody movie.

I am not saying they are equal. I am just saying they are trying to copy 'orignal series' exclusive to youtube, which is crap.

I have YouTube Red but never watch any of the content, I have it solely for the other benefits like ad free viewing on all devices but my favorite content creators still getting supported (a YouTube Red view pays more than a standard view as well I believe), being able to play videos in the background on mobile, and Google Play Music.
So I really hope the service doesn't go under, just that they don't waste much money on original programming.

You can literally get everything you just listed for free. Youtube Red is a massive waste of money, and any creator you are "supporting" is already filthy rich.

How can I play music in the background on my Android? They patched out being able to do it through the browser and a certain off the Play Store app that gave the feature got sent a cease and desist and hasn't updated it. How can I get Google Play Music for free?
Many of the creators I like aren't rich and even then, do rich people not deserve to make any money for creating content people are consuming?

There isn't a decent free alternative to Google Play Music's subscription...

With YT screwing most of the people I watch, I'd rather support them outside the site than paying for YT Red. Not that I'd actually pay a YouTuber or Twitch streamer directly, mind you.

This. There honestly isn't a better service out there. I can find albums there that aren't even on YouTube. And their recommended music/radio stations are usually spot-on. Rarely hear something I don't like.

Google Play Music is the only reason I even know what YouTube Red is.
