Yeah it was fun at first, as is most games, especially when you have friends to actually play it with. But underneath the nice shiny exterior is a toilet bowl of disappointment. I seriously dont know how a AAA game developer or whatever can be this incompetent. Will elaborate more if needed but man this shit is whack

Did you never play Destiny 1? Or The Taken King?
I learned my lesson after TTK and decided never to give a single cent to Bungie ever again.

Really depends on how many hours you put into it until it got boring. I put about 30 or more into it and I'm taking a break. Light is at like 294 or something. I feel like I got my money's worth, but at the same time I got it for free so that's probably why.

Yeah. Its funny because I played and actually enjoyed D1 until TTK. Then I saw how really money grubbing they were with TTK and quit.

Ill admit I put a lot in. But even then that shouldnt be a problem if a game actually has substance. The PvP is shit when I loved it in D1. End game is stupid and light level isnt worth anything except dick measuring. Theres literally no reason to do the new prestige raid that comes out in a week because it doesnt increase your light level and (as of yet) doesn't even give new weapons. Iron Banner RNG is shit with the token system and is plagued by ass matchmaking. Not to mention the annoying glitches that Bungie has refused to patch yet

I had literally 0 hype for Destiny 2 after the first game with all the bull shit they pulled: releasing half a game, charging out the ass for DLC to make the game complete, locking people out of content for not buying DLC, etc. I'll never buy Destiny 2 until the FULL version gets released and is on sale for 20 bucks.

That said, the most disappointing game is Mass Effect imo.

You mean when either no one is playing it anymore or they decide to release Destiny 3?
What ticked me off the most about Destiny 1 is how they made pretty much most end game content inaccesible unless you had the latest expansion.

I'm probably explaning this poorly, but once TTK released, you could never do hard mode missions, nightfalls or hard mode strikes ever again, even on vanilla content.

At least Mass Effect's multiplayer is pretty damn fun, can last, and is constantly updated. D2's DLC is dropping in december and I dont even know if I'll still be interested enough to get it what with CoD WW2 and Battlefront 2 around the corner

I've played it for about 5 weeks now. I've probably put a good 60-80 hours into it. My character is light level 301 and I've completed all content but the raid. I feel like I got my money's worth out of it. I don't really understand why some gamers think their one time purchase entitles them to an infinite amount of content.

Did you forget that Mass Effect Andromeda came out this year?

Also its just more polished Destiny, which is what the destiny players wanted. Clearly if you hated Destiny you're most likely not going to like Destiny 2.

I didnt really like WoW but i wouldn't be like "burning crusade is just more WoW" and start whining about it

Thats the thing though. I didnt really hate Destiny 1 lol. I just hated the practices they did with the DLCs.

And to call D2 a more polished D1 is an overstatement. They literally took steps back in some facets of the game.

I didnt say they took a step back in every area of the game lol. Dont get it twisted.

4v4 pvp to cater to the mlg crowd. Yet the end game pvp events such as Trials and Iron Banner, light level doesn't even matter. Not to mention they condensed all game modes into two, quickplay and competitive.

Voluntary matchmaking for raid and nightfall (guided games) is a failure. It takes 15-40+ minutes to matchmake if youre not guiding. LFG sites are the way better option, as they have always been.

You can get max light level without even doing pvp or the raid. And I already mentioned how stupid they are with the new prestige mode raid.

I prefer 4v4 because it's more tactical and because it means contributions are worth more.

Light level doesn't matter because everyone spent endless amounts of time complaining about how they always had to equip weapons they hated just to compete because that was all they had for high light level.

The game mode thing was smart. Everyone, and I mean everyone, spent the entire game's lifespan complaining about modes like Rift. Are you saying that Bungie fucked up because they listened to everyone and took out the much maligned modes?

Because everyone is using LFG sites. They instantly threw up their hands and gave up on it to go back to a shitty, out of game system, which of course made the time's longer. That should have been included in the game from day one. However, it gives single players (like myself) a chance to get involved in other end game content. I've literally made gaming buddies using it, and its the only way that I can play Nightfall since I don't know anyone who plays the game.

And why is that skin off your back? You don't like people playing the game the way they want to? Why is it a huge problem that single players can get to the end without playing the same modes you do? It sounds like that's mostly your problem. Besides, it cuts down on the endless grind (that most people also complain about) and it allow some people to avoid the toxic community that will summon you on LFG only to kick you if you are wearing the wrong colored shader or don't have maxed light level or whatever.

And now people are complaining about Supremacy lol. But at least in D1 you had a choice. In D2 if you get matchmade into a mode you dont like then tough cookies.

And I never said I had a problem about players getting to end content in different ways. Calm down. But once you get to end game content...what is there to do? Raid is fun but you wont be improving anything since youre at max level already. And like I said PvP imo isnt as enjoyable as 1's. At least in vanilla D1 the only way to reach default max level (I think 30 at the time?) was to do the raid. I get it. I'm all for choice and more options to get to max. But at least in D1 they made it feel like a sense of progression to have to do the raid ya know? Now at end game, the raid is basically worthless. Especially since most of the raid armor is ugly :x Thats just how I feel about it and not really a gripe to how others can level.

And lfg sites arent as toxic as youre making it out to be. Ive used it quite a few times and everyones been chill. Its really easy to spot the elitists from the coolios. I use reddit mainly btw.

If you are going to do the whole 'oh calm down' bullshit, I'm done right here and right now. Just because I disagree and criticize your argument does not mean that I am in a state of extreme emotion that renders me completely devoid of reason. Implying such is malarkey and comes off as classic deflection. Can we just talk about the thing we are talking about without ad hominem?

Anyway, I actually quite like that I'm not forced to play the raid to keep enjoying the game. I don't get why that is a deal breaker for you. I get that you are upset that you don't have more content, but the fact is that it has to end at some point. There has to be a cut off. Personally, I'd prefer that I can reach that cut off anyway I want to, instead of forcing me to play game modes I don't like just to max out my level.

Yes, I get that light level doesn't really matter, but it didn't really matter much in the original either, except in PVE, where it still matters.

I've never used reddit, so maybe that is it. Either way though, I don't think any game should force you to leave the game and set up a game just to actually play the game. The fact that you acknowledge that you have to 'spot the elitists' perfectly demonstrates that it is a problem, and was a huge barrier for anyone without friends to play the endgame content.

I play it a bunch still, mostly on reset and xur day.

However, I, and most the community for that matter, are pretty irritated with all the problems and the rolling back of most of the good changes from d1 year 3. Trust me, the official forums are a madhouse, the forums here are mad too. It's pretty fucked right now.

The common phrase is 1 step forward, 3 steps back.

PvP is basically ruined, pve has almost no content, lots of balance issues and other horrible design issues.

The community is emptying out pretty fast.

Yeah man. Like I said I'm NEVER the debbie downer. I try to find the goodness in all games. I enjoyed MGS5. I enjoyed Andromeda. Heck, I still get CoD yearly once they go on discounts.

But Destiny is just....Idk man. And I didnt even get to experience D1 from taken king on when I heard they revamped the game to be much better. And yet I still liked vanilla D1 way better than what D2 is now.

Oh well. Guess its that time of the year again to hop back onto Warframe lol

Taken king d1 changes were fantastic. From what I am reading, the team at bungie who made d2 made d1 vanilla. The guys who made the taken king revisions were the b squad, and had no hand in d2.

Perhaps they should let then fix d2 lol

Yep. Warframe is the gift that keeps on giving. Its crazy because I hopped on to Warframe after D1 when I first got my ps4 and although the learning curve was pretty steep at the start, its what I thought Destiny should have been. Actual class diversity and actual gun diversity that actually makes guns fun akin to borderlands.

I also love that despite being f2p, it doesn't beat you over the head with it like a lot of f2p games can. It's not p2w, which actually made me purchase some things from them. Plus, they've been consistently improving it since launch.

Fuck I need to go home and reinstall it now. I only play d2 on reset basically anyway.
