I remember that day. I was so fucking happy that Sonic was finally in Smash.

It felt like I had a moment of "collective consciousness" that day. It's a sort of paranormal or supernatural thing where the thoughts of a large group of people are so strong, they can affect others.

I remember I was at work, since I worked overnights at a gas station, and about an hour or two before I had to clock out, I suddenly got this feeling. Like, "I wouldn't mind if Sonic was in Smash Bros." or actually feeling pretty positive about it. And the weird thing is that, whenever someone talked about how they wished he was in Smash Bros., I personally couldn't care less. I had no interest whatsoever, and thought it was a dumb, pointless, never-gonna-happen thing to talk about. But suddenly, for no reason, I felt rather positive about it, and thinking it would be nice if he got in.

Then I head home, and one of the first things I do is go to check smashbros.com as I did every night back then...

And my mind was fucking blown.

Mario's rival. One of my childhood favorites. Sonic himself, somehow in Super Smash Bros. now.

And since I'm in Arizona, about the time smashbros.com updated was about the same time I had those unexplainable, positive feelings at work about Sonic being in. It was so weird.

I was posting on the Brawl board more than here at the time.

IMO, aside from LUE back in the day, pre-release Brawl board is the most chaotic board in site history. Complete lunacy on a grand scale.

The day Sonic was announced pretty much crashed the board. Never seen so many identical spam threads get wiped at once.
