The solar industry might take a beating in the US soon because two whiny companies bitched about cheap imports from other countries and now the US government might put a tariff on the imports. That will set back solar in the US a few years in terms of cost reductions.

unlikely, solar costs have gone down so drastically as of late that i don't see that stopping anytime soon with or without tariffs

unlikely, solar costs have gone down so drastically as of late that i don't see that stopping anytime soon with or without tariffs


Yes, it won't be a complete trend reversal, but it will set the cost reductions back 3-4 years or so from what I heard, like back to where we were in 2013. That's actually a significant amount because of how rapidly the cost has been falling, so this would suck if it happens.
