I never went to college. I went into this Christian discipleship school at the behest of my father. Im actually glad I did because it really did change my life for the better. Spiritual aspects aside it really helped me in my personality and social stuff etc. The problem was going back for a second year which was an absolute waste of time. I did end up interning in the media department and getting a job with the media team that I worked at for a couple years but that didn't go anywhere and there really isn't money in working for a church, at least the one I did.

So it really is my fault and I can definitely go to college. I feel like I couldn't support myself/work and go to school at the same time without going into debt. And it's a shitty excuse but I really hate forms and filing for financial aid and stuff like that...

Also I answered that I regret it. But I do understand it's something I can't change and I don't really let it hang me up. I really just go with the flow, but I do realize my life could be more successful if I had went to college. And I understand i could still go. AND I understand that going to college isn't a magical make you successful thing, and requires work.

Hm, let's see:

- Failing high school. Basically got me started on a downward spiral where I attempted suicide on a few occasions, but I either stopped before I started or stopped half way because "it hurt too much." As an adult, I tried going back to school but I found that - even as an adult - I still hated studying. Hated it with a passion. I didn't want to do it anymore.

- Asking a girl to marry me. We've known each other for about four years and I thought she was ready. I made a fool of myself in so many ways, it was pathetic. That was back in 2012, and it still hurts now. I know the experience made me a better person and I did change a lot, but it still hurts.

You would have a harder time succeeding if you don't go back.

At least you tried. I asked a girl out on a date last year, after knowing her for several months, and got blatantly rejected, all due to her ex-boyfriend cheating on her 5 times.

Eh, that was about seventeen years ago. I tried again after twelve years (As an adult) and still hated it. I'm alright with where I am now. I realize I can do better, but I'm alright.

Sorry to hear about that. And yes, I know I'm better off this way. At least I know what she really wanted, and that way I managed to break it off before it became any worse. But it still hurts. Don't think I'll ever put myself out there again, at least not like I did before.

I'll never understand how anyone can't at least maintain passing grades, especially if they're not in AP classes.

I googled AP classes and it seems that it's specific to the US and Canada. Education in the Middle East is different, I suppose. I'll explain how it goes over here:

- First, we need to decide on a course to start on. These courses will include all the subjects that we need to study and pass. Roughly translated, they are:

1- Scientific (Includes mostly science, math, algebra, geography and generally includes a combination of the below courses).
2- Literature (Heavy emphasis on literature & History)
3- Industrial (Focuses on industrial & manufacturing studies)
4- Commercial (Business management & the likes)
5- Religion (Includes all sorts of religious studies)

Once you've decided, you need to continue attend the specific school for the course and follow it through until the end, as once you decide to change courses, then you need to start all over again even if some subjects are included in both courses and you passed it in the previous course.

- Well be given subjects that are specific to that course only (Except for Scientific) and need to pass them all. Marks will be calculated (0-100, with 50 being the passing mark) and if you fail a subject, youll be given another chance to pass it again during the summer holidays in the form of a lengthy exam. Fail it again, and it will be registered on your profile and you will be unable to graduate high school until you pass that subject.

- 3 years of high school, with two semesters in each year for a total of 6 semesters. I forgot how many hours each subject has, or the total amount of hours needed to pass (Its been ages since I thought of this) but basically, you need to pass all the subjects given to you.

- After completing 3 years, the subjects you failed in will be given to you again. You will be allowed to attend their classes as a normal student for the period of one year. Fail them again, and then the school effectively kicks you out. If you want to continue studying, youll have to pay for the books, study on your own and must attend the final exam that will determine whether you pass or fail. This can continue for as many years as it takes until you pass, or give up studying.

Thats it, I guess. Ah, I chose the most difficult course (Because of course I would) which was Scientific. I remember being blasted by chemical formulas, physics equations and algebra annotations. I think I really did try to understand what the hell was going on, but I gave up and started to hate it instead.

IIRC, the only subjects that I need to pass are Physics (300-something) and a couple of chemistries (200-300 something). Not even going to poke them with a stick.

Technically, you're correct. We didn't go on an actual date, as she was from a family that was still very traditional (Her father was against her getting a job in the first place). Even being engaged is frowned upon. To these people, you're either married and allowed to be with her daughter, or you're not and you need to stay away as far as possible. There was no in-between.

Still, where there's a will there's a way. We made do with what we could as we chatted around the office. And even then we needed to be discreet.
