Eh, it hasn't been that bad. It hasn't been that good either though. I don't mind playing it, but I don't feel any particular urge to play it either. It's at exactly the halfway point between hope and despair, as it were.

Made it to the secret hideout and met Hagakure's...mom? She's quite the character, like her son (?). Either that, or she's a much older sister.

Man, I had forgotten how annoying it is crossing South Ocean to get to Ixa'taka because the strong winds slow your progress to a halt (and will actively blow you backward if you don't keep moving forward), combined with the high encounter rate.

I'm not a huge Metroid guy. I got all the way up to near the very end of Prime and never finished it. Played a couple hours of Super Metroid. I'm not a huge fan of all the backtracking and what feels like aimless wandering because I'm bad at video games.

don't be afraid to use a map for Super Metroid. I played that all the way through for the first time earlier this year and actually didn't really care for it much, but using a map made it more tolerable.

I like Mega Man a lot, although I've beaten very few without cheating (Game Genie/save states) because the Wily/Sigma stages tend to kick my butt hard.

I need to play the later MMX games and the MMZero games sometime. I've got the MMX and MMZ collections already, so I just need to get motivated to tackle them.

I love, love, love MMX1-3. One of my favorite gaming "trilogies" of all time, up there with DKC1-3 and FF7-9. Not a huge fan of the original MM games though (MM2 is good and MM6 is pretty fun, but not even close to X1-3), and I think the later MMX games are drastically worse. I beat MMX4 and thought it was maybe on par with the original MM games, and found MMX5 to be incredibly hard and unfun for whatever reason. Always been somewhat interested in MMZ.

Some MM1 stages are hard, but that's kinda it.

I don't think the Robot Master stages are hard, and maybe not the individual Wily/Sigma stages.

The combination of all the final stages just becomes a war of attrition and I run out of lives before I can finish them most of the time.

Since it's Funimation, I wonder if there will be an English dub. They announced that there would be an English dub at one time, but nothing more has come of it. It has "English" listed under languages with Japanese, so I'm not sure if it means there will be English voices or just subtitles (although it has subtitles listed under a different heading).

All right, Working!! complete! After my talk before about how frequently manga and anime don't have satisfying endings, this is one of the rare shows of any kind that ends exactly the way that it should. The last episode was excellent, and just about everything that needed to be resolved was resolved. Such a great show.

Man, ever since I listened to "The End of an Era" the other day, I've been rewatching a bunch of GenoBoost's Mass Effect AMVs. He's got like 30 of them overall. These are actually really cool. I didn't have time to watch too many but I found two I really liked. I don't want to link to the Life is Strange one because it had huge ending spoilers but I learned that the ending of that game can hit me right in the heart even in AMV form so that was fun. Max and Chloe are the best

I imagine Lightning Returns is a slightly more relevant game to the people who follow this topic, and this was a great one (which has spoilers obviously)

The story and characters of these games are a lot better than most people give them credit for. Seeing scenes of everyone interacting and who they were all fighting for got to me. It even made me care about Caius, even if only a little bit. Watching that video really made me want to replay the trilogy but I just don't have a hundred hours to spare right now!

Not yet. I finished up Working last night, so I'll probably start it tonight or tomorrow.

Also, I bought Automata a little bit earlier. It won the poll in the last topic, and I managed to get it new for 40 bucks. I dunno when I'll actually play it. I'm in the middle of Trails and Skies, and Odyssey is right around the corner. Plus, now I've got the SNES Classic to play.

DRV3 Progress: Finished Case 2. Went a little bit into Chapter 3 but not far. We had more trial minigames and while these two are the worst so far, they're still far better than other Danganronpa "Classics." I'd have to double-check the skills I can get, but I think this might be all the minigames now?

Music feels a lot more hit-or-miss than DR2. It might be influenced by the fact that my favorites among the songs don't seem to play too often. Think DR2 tends to have the better music even when DRV3 is at its peak.

Cast still pretty great. I still like Nagito and Gundham more than any of these guys but on the other end even the character I like the least so far is leagues ahead of DR1 and 2's worsts. Would probably land around the low end of a "eh" tier on DR2's cast, for example.

A bit more detail: Unfortunately, all my favorite characters, or characters I'm most interested in, keep going down. Of the 4 casualties so far, they were all in my Top 6. Maki and Miu should be on full alert based on this trend. I think Maki bought herself another chapter at least, but I'm really iffy on her prospects of making it through this. Feels like it's 50/50.

I'm also having an opinion reversal on the Monokubs and even Monokuma to an extent. Monodam carrying them, he's the best.

Okay, after a couple episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho...I'm not sure what I think. Yusuke is a bit too HOTBLOODED and pervy for my tastes, but there's potential for character growth with the premise of the story. Some of the other characters seem decent, and one of them is voiced by Laura Bailey, which is a big plus.

All right, finished Moon Stone Mountain in Skies of Arcadia! It's one of the more annoying dungeons in the game due to De Loco's traps, although I'm familiar enough with the game that I mostly remembered how to avoid them. At the same time, this is around the point where the game becomes appreciably easier. I've gotten enough Moonberries for Vyse to learn Rain of Swords and Aika to learn Lambda Burst, and I have enough SP to use Lambda Burst every round, which makes random battles much quicker and more manageable. Plus, Aika knows Sacrum and Fina knows Riselem, which makes it a lot easier to stay alive during boss battles. Next up is the Lost City of Rixis.

Also, I love the Vyse/De Loco rivalry. It's cool that every Admiral has a unique rivalry with Vyse. With Belleza, there's sort of this mutual respect for each other's cunning and there's no real hatred between them. De Loco is probably the only Admiral other than Galcian Vyse shows real disdain for and he's the only Admiral besides Ramirez that Vyse kills directly, coupled with De Loco's sheer insanity and complete obsession with getting revenge on Vyse. It's not a deep rivalry by any means, but it's an effective one. Also, De Loco has excellent voice clips. NOW I will kill you! Good, good!
