BLM is a farce.

This guy recently used the PPCS (a BJS survey of over 70,000 people) to debunk its main talking point -- that police brutality is epidemic or at least so common that it warrants national protests.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/451466/police-violence-against-black-men-rare-heres-what-data-actually-say

Further, physical force as defined by the PPCS includes relatively mild forms of violence such as pushing and grabbing. Actual injuries by the police are so rare that one cannot estimate them very precisely even in a survey as big as the PPCS, but the available data suggest that only 0.08 percent of black men are injured by the police each year, approximately the same rate as for white men. A black man is about 44 times as likely to suffer a traffic-related injury, according to the National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey. Moreover, keep in mind that these tallies of police violence include violence that is legally justified.

I suggest people visit the guy's twitter account for a laugh. Deranged leftists who can't let go of this BLM farce tried to challenge his research, with many falsely claiming that this survey of civilians is based on racist police accounts. Others just asserted, "it's wrong and someone, someday will come along and prove what I know to be true!!!!111".

You're preaching to the choir. My issue with BLM from day one has been that it's based on a myth that only black people suffer from police brutality at rates that are unacceptable. If the movement had been based around police reform in general, and not simply a rehashed racial oppression movement, I'd be out marching them.

Here was what he made of his life after suing the city and getting $3.8 million.

- On August 21, 1993, he crashed his car into a block wall in downtown Los Angeles. He was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol, fined, and entered a rehabilitation program, after which he was placed on probation.

- In July 1995, he was arrested by Alhambra police after hitting his wife with his car and knocking her to the ground. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of hit and run.

- On August 27, 2003, King was arrested again for speeding and running a red light while under the influence of alcohol. He failed to yield to police officers and slammed his vehicle into a house, breaking his pelvis.

- On March 3, 2011, the 20th anniversary of the beating, the LAPD stopped King for driving erratically and issued him a citation for driving with an expired license. This arrest led to his February 2012 misdemeanor conviction for reckless driving

Literally drove his car into his wife.
