Would you be unable to restrain yourself from pointing them out and yelling their name?

I don't really get this movie/anime cliche, like... even if I happened to be sitting near Morgan Freeman, Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Samuel L. Jackson, Bill Murray, or Jim Carrey... I'd just be like, oh hey, it's "insert famous person's name here," in the back of my mind.

I would probably ask someone nearby something like "Isn't that so-and-so?"

With small tv personalities I've run into, I just wait till our eyes meet, give them a quick head nod, and sometimes go for a handshake and say, "Hey, big fan."

Then I walk away.

So stare until your eyes meet?

I've lived in a few big cities and crossed paths with celebrities occasionally. I think it's a little weird for people to go crazy over meeting someone famous, but if it's someone I like I'll try and at least say hello and that I enjoy their work as long as it doesn't seem like I'd be interrupting them. I saw Scottie Pippen at a restaurant once but I felt bad bothering him during a meal so I didn't try to interact with him at all, for example.

I generally don't pay attention to celebrities so I doubt I would recognize them to begin with.

Reeba McEntire was once local to us for a fourth of July thing when I was like...17? And one of my buddies as she was walking out of the event center screams "REEEEEEEEBBBAAAA" as loud as he possibly can.

I don't know why he did. I'm not sure even he knows why he did. We listened to (at the time) garbage screemo music. Country never even came into the picture. Needless to say, we made fun of him mercilessly for years.

I'd leave them alone. Maybe comment quietly if I was with someone about who I think I see. I tend to put myself in their shoes when they're not "on" and if they're just out living their lives I don't think I have a right to blow up their spot just because I know them from TV or something.

You look EXTREMELY immature when you announce that you're about to ignore someone. No one cares, including the person about to be ignored. Just FYI.

Probably my approach as well. I'm not too keen on attempting to get an autograph on a napkin or take a selfie with them.

I'd probably introduce myself then ask for a photo with them. I certainly wouldn't yell "Hey Phil!" when I see them in line at a sports event then pester them.

I would be indifferent.

I do not care to follow other people; famous or not. And I do not understand the need to be "close" to famous people either; to admire them up close bordering hero-worship. Or that feeling of needing to look at a person who is supposed to be striking. I have not felt this about anyone. Ever.
