I really want this to be a story that has ultimate betrayal on both sides and we get a complex turning to the dark side like the prequels were supposed to be, juxtaposed with a redemption tale for Kylo.

It won't be complex. It'll be like Star Trek: Into Darkness where it's the exact same thing but with a major scene swapped for the sake of a twist.
