I'm normally good at remembering games, but there are like 3-4 whose names escape me for some reason. I'd know them if I saw them, but I don't even know if the descriptions will be that great. I don't think I ever finished them. That is probably why my memory is fuzzy.

Game 1

- late 80s/early 90s PC crime drama game
- Guy is framed for stabbing someone, drowning someone, or driving their car off a bridge
- Game is time limited to like 2-3 days (game has a gray HUD with the timer all the time)
- You keep going to and from the hub screen to select areas throughout the main town while solving the mystery
- point and click sort of game (but I don't think it's quite a puzzle, more of a visual novel)
- I remember visiting a morgue, and a church, and I think a bar

Game 2 - Greendog the Beached Surfer Dude - FOUND

- early/mid 90s console platformer/sidescroller
- tons of beach/ocean/cave levels (Grenada/Jamaica)
- main character is kind of like a surfer Lemming looking thing (at least I think he is)
- I think he can ride on surf or hoverboards or stuff in some levels

Game 3

- early 90s Genesis sidescroller/shooter
- alien looking places everywhere (think Alien meets Mega Man; and freaking dark looking)
- tons of levels/powerups
- I forget if the main character was in a ship or not, but it was all machines

Game 4

- Early Genesis/SNES 1st Person dungeon game
- I think it was more about escaping than fighting monsters
- Castles/DnD/Medieval times setting
- tons of dead ends/labyrinths

Game 5 - Cyborg Justice - FOUND

- Genesis beat-em-up with destructible robots
- Cyber something name? Cyberbots/Cyberfighters
- Bots can be ripped apart and stuff, and I think there was a PVP/Co-Op battle function

Game 6 - Forgotten Worlds - FOUND

- Genesis sidescrolling/shooter game
- Two cops/enforcer types in jetpack things fighting demons or aliens in like 6-8 levels
- I think one of the last stages was a HUGE vertical stage with fire/demons/space aliens
- Maybe the name is similar to Forgotten Warriors/Enforcers/Space Warriors...Forgotten something.

Sorry if my descriptions kind of suck. I know I played these as a kid. Maybe the names/boxart/Youtube clip would get my mind going. I was probably 5-10 when I last played these, and I know I haven't replayed them like most of the games I know. They weren't household names either. I forget if they were even good by today's standards. Any help would be appreciated though. I'd love to go back and see if they were any good at all.

Definitely not Contra. It was like a machine/spaceship/alien fighting stuff of a similar kind in like a bunch of caverns/dark techno looking places.

Greendog and Cyborg Justice are hits

Shadowgate is similar to the game I'm looking for, but I think there's no huge HUD. I think the visuals take up like 80% of the screen, if not all of it.

Game 1 sounds reminiscent of one of the Manhunter games maybe.

*Floating eyeballs, blue skeletons, and Spaceball desert people*

Nope...none of that. More grounded, I think. I think the character has to earn money throughout the game for some reason, and it takes time, which is another reason the time mechanic was a bitch.

No. Like the dungeon crawler, it was also a full-screen game. Like there's a still image of the newspaper article about the murder, the morgue scene has the body within the hospital, and you have to click over it to scan it. Full screen kinda layout.

Could 6 be Forgotten Worlds? I thought it was just an arcade game, but it looks like it did get a Genesis port...and several other ports, actually...

I imagine the third game isn't a Sega CD title? Android Assault feels almost like a correct answer (you play as a ship that transforms into a robot at max power), but it's kinda the wrong system.

Final guess: Atomic Robo Kid?

Failing that, you may want to skim this article and see if anything looks familiar: http://www.sega-16.com/2005/10/genre-spotlight-shmups-extravaganza/

Yeah; Atomic Robo Kid; that's what it was. That skeleton/bony level was a dead giveaway.

Yeah. That's it. Of course it had to be under a title like that. A beat-em-up/shooter had the same name. I remember always playing this on or borrowing this game from my cousins' computer. No wonder I forgot about these. I was barely 5. Seeing these again, they are average to poor, with some REALLY bad design choices in some spots. I give Cyborg Justice credit. It does let you rip robots' arms and heads off.

I have never talked to anyone else who ever played it before. I remember getting it as a gift from my aunt and uncle in a bundle of like ten or twelve games. The only other game I remember is Wizardry 7 and I spent god knows how many hours playing it as a teenager

For reference

Game 1 - Crime City
Game 2 - Greendog the Beached Surfer Dude
Game 3 - Atomic Robo-Kid
Game 5 - Cyborg Justice
Game 6 - Forgotten Worlds

Game 4 is still TBD. However, everyone else was able to get the other ones, so that was amazing.

Game #4's description made me think of Arcana for SNES for the first time in years and now I want to play it. I'm not sure I ever beat it when I was younger

Shining in the Darkness is certainly the closest thus far, judging by the visual style. I don't know if it had an RPG battle system though. It definitely felt really close to the game I was looking for.
