Man the hardest part is having to watch my dad come to term with his father's body failing him.

He also tested positive for Lyme's disease, but he had that years ago and I think that stays in your system.

Hope he pulls through, pneumonia is rough, especially on the elderly. :(

My dad is in his 70s and was able to beat pneumonia.

Thanks for the well wishes. It sounds like he'll be out of the hospital tomorrow, so that's cool. But my dad doesn't really expect him to see the new year.

that is really good news, for a lot of older people pneumonia can be a death sentence.

i would definitely visit your grandparents more. i didnt visit my grandma much in the last year or two of her life because i was busy with work/my girlfriend/going out/etc and then she died and i've been hating myself for not being there ever since

I second that. Last few years my grandmother was around I was just super busy with stuff, even though I lived in the same town more or less, just seemed hard to find time and I'd basically only visit on major holidays. She had Alzheimer's and by the end had no idea who I was, so I wish I'd spent more time before it had advanced so much. :(

update: he now also has a UTI and he's been diagnosed with early stage dementia.

Fuck I really didn't want that last part the most.
