but I fixed it already, just encoding the string as ascii, setting to ignore unknown characters, then decoding back to string to upload

too lazy to put in actual emoji support, mostly since I'm not well versed in textual formats yet

Yeah lol, you can finally type now. But it does make a lot of the topics that get archived look weird since many messages are filled with unicode characters or solely have unicode characters.
