I probably won't ever get married, and even if I do divorce seems likely.

That said, I would strongly consider adoption. It'd keep me from getting lonely, and those poor orphaned bastards need someone.

If you have kids, it's not going to be a happily ever after >_>

In general, whenever I attend a wedding, I joke about it being a person's first wedding which implies a series of weddings.

Well, if everybody here was as clever as you, I wouldn't need to explain it to be safe. In the mean-time, feel free to give yourself a pat on the back.

Married?, Hah, No way in hell, let alone happily.

Kids?, Going by my first answer it'd be a no, but I wouldn't be against at least TRYING to give a kid a good life, before they have to face the harsh realities of life as an adult.....

I hope to be. After all, life shouldn't just be about ME or my enjoyment.

Just as I've been given life by my parents, I want to give life future children too. And if that's a burden, it'll be a happy burden. :)))

I wouldn't have said it exactly like Kaiser said, but yeah there are kids that do need a real home.

Already living the dream.

Alot of my friends are doing ok with it too

Then there is the 56 year old guy at work that is going through a divorce and has late teen kids and that just makes me wary of grim possibilities.

I am not getting married or having kids. I don't even want a lover. I enjoy my freedom and don't want anyone controlling my life.

Happily ever after does not exist in real life. That's why there's fiction, which is an escape from the bad things in real life.

So true.

Like everything else in life, one must be prepared to endure and work hard to achieve it.

10 years and two children in (with a third child planned for the future. Maybe a year from now), my wife and I are happy.

Can't predict what may come a little further down the road, but for the foreseeable future I see no reason why we won't be happy.

Saddens me to see you say that Zeus. The love of a good woman can change a good man's life for the better, and I've always thought of you as a good man.

I always get cards for a different occasion. My one friend's wedding card was a Bar Mitzvah one where I wished them thirteen years of happiness :D

Well that's rather grim. I do not deny life becoming very challenging with kids and some of my fellow adult leaders, Scouts parents, and cousins are already dreading the junior high and high school drama that is yet to come.

But when I see the amount of effort some of these parents put into giving their sons and daughters an enriching childhood I am sure they are still enjoying themselves. Why put in so much time for your children if you're just gonna view them as the lows of your life?

As for multiple marriages, I'll admit the 50% divorce rate among the United States is demoralizing. On the flip side, all my aunts and uncles have been married for 30-40+ years. Maybe it is just a culture thing as I think divorce rate among Asians, namely Chinese, is among the lowest.
