Every now and then I've set some of them up but then barely play it.

Retro consoles are nice to have. I've kept all of my older systems because I'm very fond of each and every one of them. Same for games.

All of my retro stuff is in the attic but I do hook one of them up every now and then.

I would never sell because I know I would regret it.

I've been struggling with this for a while now too, I've got an old (but well loved) Dreamcast and pile of light-guns/games and a near mint Saturn with a bunch of games...I recently saw a Dreamcast going for $400 and it got me thinking about selling because I haven't used them in almost a decade (I still play most of the games regularly but they've been re-released on other platforms/emulated)...thoughts?

dreamcast games don't go for much either due to how easy it is to play pirated games on it

Better than selling them and then being like "aww man, I miss so-and-so game"

I don't doubt it but you know how it works, if someone puts it up for $400 there's a chance someone might be willing to pay somewhere close to that so you couldn't blame a guy for trying lol

Agreed, but they've been sitting under a layer of dust for a long time and I don't miss the games because I can play them on newer equipment (emulated/re-released etc.) so I'm just not seeing the value in keeping the old consoles...

I never sell consoles. They leave my house when they die.

If you do choose to sell now is a great time to get good money for retro game systems and games. Me on the other hand try to keep most of my older stuff. I have a nice sega saturn collection and pc engine collection that I doubt I'd ever part with unless I got a offer above market value.

I have sold some nes, snes and n64 stuff past few years, just stuff I don't play or would rather have the cash to put towards different stuff.

I don't see prices going down for a while or ever so its not a bad idea just to keep it and see if prices go up even higher.

Your call in the end.
