Anyone play the original Dark Reign back in the day? That manual was friggin' epic. Pages and pages of back story, plus a high-res picture and summary of every single unit in the game. I miss those days.

Ultima Online's manual is what I immediately thought of with this poll. The thing was roughly 200 pages.
Spent the first night reading it cover to cover while patching the game on my 56k modem. Partially miss those days. --- You'll listen to reason while you're face down in the dirt. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I miss those days. yes, in fact I probably still have the manual in my closet. I was never that impressed by the game (I think I played it after Starcraft, which was FAR superior), but I did really like the music. --- The truth basks in scrutiny. http://i.imgur.com/GMouTGs.jpg http://projecteuler.net/profile/Sahuagin.png ... Dark reign 2 was a fun follow up, bog standard strategy game stuff but absolutely gorgeous. Yeah, the music was killer. Activision had great music for all their games back then, including the mechwarrior series. --- The best driving shoes are Tod's, but they're...slightly less durable footwear than strapping the Dead Sea scrolls around your feet. -MTV ...
