Not like the technology isn't available. What's the point of a new game coming out, you play dynasty mode for the next 12 months and have to abandon it when the new game comes out. You never get to see certain players retire or enter the HoF etc.

Surely all the new games are is updated mechanics and rosters, no reason why you can't transfer your dynasty mode team to a new system as everything's already in place in terms of stats and things.

Just sounds like a no brainer why is this not a thing

Seems like a good idea. To be honest, they may as well do away with the traditional yearly release in that case. Release a base game then just have the roster updates, new stadiums, etc as DLC or a cheaper expansion disc. The gameplay changes are usually so subtle at times to these sort of games that they are barley noticeable anyway.

Earl Weaver Baseball did this for a few years in the late-'80s.
