the os is bare-bones, sterile, no personality, same with the eshop. fucking friend codes...still? surely the dock has an ethernet port, right?--- nope. oh well, at least i can watch netflix... oh nope, that's hidden away somewhere as well. how about that virtual conso-- fuuuuuck. at least i can play two-player mario kart with the wife with the joy cons... oh wait, these things are garbage as actual controllers on their own.

Not sure why anyone expects anything from the Switch right now. The lineups look good down the road, a la Xenoblade, Mario Odyssey, and a few others.

The mistake was getting it now rather than when all the actual games are out.

Why didn't you know about VC or Netflix prior to buying? I understand your annoyances though, I was on the Switch board and said if Skyrim had some type of achievements to go after I would definitely buy it for a 3rd time only for the Nintendo fanboys to jump down my throat and tell me I play games for the wrong reasons.

I enjoy my Switch though, I love taking it to work and playing Zelda and Kart. I think if you don't own a Wii or a Wii U like myself then this is a great console to own. I think if you own a Wii U there really isn't a reason to buy a Switch right now.

I am really glad I didn't buy one. The last Nintendo console I got any mileage out of was the GameCube. It's all gimmicks and rehashes now with the very rare bright spot that causes impulsive caving... I was so fired up about the NX, and what it could be, and then it's essentially a more portable Wii U with a multitude of design flaws. Awesome.

Its funny because when they get an achievement system its probably going to get heralded as the coming of jesus over there. You can go back and complain how its wrecking the purity of gaming and probably get modded into oblivion for trolling.

I'm gonna get one just for metroid prime 4 and I'm not ashamed to admit it... But I'll definitely play breath of the wild, Mario, new smash and Mario kart too

All the problems with the Switch will be fixed by the time the next model comes around. That's what I've been saying, idk what other people keep saying.

I would like to point out that none of those things (except useable controllers) were promised by Nintendo or stated to be on the switch.
Unfortunately, it seems you didn't really research the device and trusted people online to influence your decision. ;.; At least you've learnt now to research first.

If you've only just bought it, I'm sure there's a least some way to recuperate the money wasted. Maybe sell it online for a bit less than the switch normally sells for. I've heard that America has a switch shortage and people don't want to buy from scalpers, so by selling it as the proper price (or discounted) you'd probably get a buyer very quickly.

Also, if the main gripe about the joycons is the motion controls, they can be turned off. But if the issue is them being too small, awkward or simply just not right, then sadly the only fix is spending more money for a different controller, which I'm no psychic, but I'm guessing that'll be a 'no way' from you.

I like the Switch, but honestly once I beat Zelda it's been collecting dust. Played a little Mario Kart and a few other games (Blaster Master Zero is awesome if you want a nostalgia trip, Mr Shifty is like Hotline Miami with no personality featuring Nightcrawler as the player character).

Probably won't touch it again until Odyssey releases. Then who knows when? Metroid Prime 4, maybe?

Sure it's nice to have a console on day one but you grow to realise it's pointless at the end of the day being a early adaptor.

Haha, you fell for it

I think people hype it up primarily for three reasons..

1.) The thing is a pain to get unless you buy it from a scalper or get it in a bundle that costs ya more than the console alone.

2.) The device is a home/portable console so that really impresses people.

3.) Nintendo hardcore fans going on and on about the console.

Anytime I have used a web browser on a console I have hated the experience, I would rather browse the net on a phone.

Wii U's browser was pretty tight tho
In the early version you always had google quick search and you could skip youtube ads
And the user agent thing pretty much got past any flash/html issues
One of the small things I loved is when you pressed both shoulder buttons and tilted you could zoom scroll pages, it made navigating feel a lot smoother :p
If it had the 3DS's 12 tab limit and a history browser it would've been legit perfect :(

The way I saw it, I preferred to get Zelda on the Switch, and realistically, I wasn't likely to save more than $50 or so by waiting until the end of the year to grab one with more games. Given that it was probably better to buy one on launch day than trying to find one now, it worked out, even if it's not seeing much use yet. Zelda and Snipperclips have both been good fun, so I'm pretty happy.

I think enjoyment of the Switch requires an appreciation of its portability gimmick. How much you use that feature will be make or break for the purchase. I'd never remove mine from the dock.

I impulse bought my Switch day 1. I enjoyed Zelda greatly and I'm looking forward to Splatoon 2, buuut I still feel like I should have waited at least a year first. Oh well, no regrets.
