a good classic countryish sounding tune from a band that was once considered audible trash by newspapers(which inspired ray manzarek of the doors to perform keyboards and produce a few early albums).

this song comes from the mid 80s.

This was always one of my favorite Soundgarden songs. I just love how slow and heavy and dirge-like it is, and the guitar tuning/effects are so sludgy and gritty.

Do love me some X, though.

goddamn i had no idea.

I like X but I havent got a grip on their whole discography. Their first album is classic, and ive enjoyed tunes from some others but there are entire albums mostly near the end of their life i havent checked out and likely never will.

I'm in the same boat. I'm familiar with some of their earlier stuff. Not so much the newer.

It's so hard to keep up with music these days, there's just endless amounts of new music to explore on top of everything else I want to listen to, ON TOP of exploring older music or other genres I may be curious about.

when i look for new music to listen to, its almost always older music.

the reason is because theres so much already out there i dont feel the need to listen to newer music, when in 10-20 years ill know about the classics(stood the test of time) and can listen to them then.

Theres probably a ton of interesting music made in the past 10ish years, but ill wait

That's a good approach. Never thought to do that.

Some stuff you just sort of stumble across, though. Absolutely in love with this band Bent Knee right now. Never would've heard of them save for they were the opening act for part of Dillinger Escape Plan's farewell tour. Wouldn't consider Bent Knee metal, they were kind of a weird fit for the bill but I'm glad I caught them because their music is interesting and they're great live.

You do happen to stumble across random stuff you like if you check around, which is cool.

I like certain genres, such as emo(which im using to mean -at the risk of sounding HIP- actual emo from the 80s and 90s[and bands today with the certain style), but no matter how deep you dig, even though the history has already been written and no new 80s/90s emo bands can exist because they all already did: there is always a band or two you find randomly thats killer that you never heard of before or have but decided to check out. Its probably impossible to discover everything from a genre that rose to prominence in the late 90s even though the quantity is set in stone.
