You will be born into the same family, have the same brain, etc, but your race would be whatever you select. Any changes would only come as a result of your race's impact on your life? Which may or may not occur to any or a small degree. Which would you choose? I got these from some generic ethnicity classification website: American Indian or Alaska Native: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America), and who maintains tribal affiliation or community attachment. Asian: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent including, for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam. Black or African American: A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa. Terms such as "Haitian" or "Negro" can be used in addition to "Black or African American". Granted, they're by far the most oppressed race in this country, but they get an almost unlimited free pass when it comes to complaining about immigrants >_> And, of course, it's one of the more attractive races. I wouldn't want to live in Asia because they keep aborting their girls and it's much harder to find a girl. I wouldn't want to be black because racism, and almost every prominent black country is poor. On the other side, South America has a wonderful sense of community that the first world just left behind. Hobbits supposedly have roughly the same lifespan as humans and the only reason Bilbo lived as long as he did was through the Ring. Dwarfs vary by continuity, but elves are generally depicted as being nearly ageless. In Tolkien's works, they only seem to die of injury or disease. Granted, elves -- in most continuities -- are basically humans+. They're portrayed as being the same height or taller, more attractive, far longer-lived, physically stronger, more agile, more magically attuned, greater resistance to disease, etc. The only thing that humans are better at is multiplying faster, since they always seem to wind up outnumbering elves and most other races.
