All I see is watch history for YouTube. I'm sure my search history is in there somewhere, but I didn't bother with downloading the archive for it to see how it looks. Not sure what the fuss is over this; Google has tracked search and watch history for a long time and made it visible on the user's end. If you don't like something in there, you should have not been signed in at the time you visited it.

Maybe the location history is a bit much, but I don't really know what somebody can do with the knowledge that I was in Utah at one point in 2016

If you ever rebel against the tech overlords they might kill everyone in Utah to spite you.

Pretty much this. My only shock is that they let you see something they track.

Is it your entire google search history, or your entire search history from when you were logged into your account?

The fact that your search history has been tracked has been known for a long time, like before people started freaking out about government spying... seeing as you could easily see the history yourself. People seemed accepting of it back then, you can just not log into your account or use an incognito window.

But again, I'm not seeing any search history on mine, so maybe I don't know how bad it is for you. Are there searches that you didn't expect to be tracked?

I mean, it's not certain, but most likely while you were logged in.

You know you can just pause your activity tracking... It shows nothing for me.

Of course, I'm sure they still track it anyways and keep that information to themselves.

It would have to be when you're logged in. They wouldn't track it otherwise. Or at least, it wouldn't be able to be associated with your account.

Not true. They can associate certain IP addresses with certain accounts and track you that way, but IP addresses can change so it's not perfect.

This. In regards to showing the user their own activity, this is what we're talking about. Obviously Google still tracks user data without their knowledge. They just don't make it publicly visible.

Pretty much. I did tech support for an ISP once, and they are able to associate an account (read: address) with multiple changing IPs. If you can assume cooperation with corporations like Google and ISPs, they could ostensibly track you across IPs. VPNs make it more difficult, but unless multiple people are using them, it's not impossible.
