No connection to terrorism, so don't expect to hear from 45 too soon on this. Can we talk about guns now, or no?

I am interested in hearing someone's proposal for how they would ban all guns in the country.

Please take into consideration the additional 2 caveats:

1. Canada has legal guns and is the largest unguarded border in the world
2. Mexico also has a ton of guns, and lots of people cross from there with those guns on a regular basis.

We better put a ban on while male army vets until we know what's going on!

There's a lot of misinformation out there about the strictness of gun ownership in other countries. I mean look at the rates of gun ownership in countries that Americans seem to think have guns "banned"...

TIL: THERE ARE MORE GUNS IN THE USA THAN THERE ARE PEOPLE

Anyway, the guns owned by people in "banned gun" countries seems to be really really fucking low. 6.6 in UK, for example. IIRC if you own a gun there, it has to stay locked up at a firing range and you're not allowed to take it with you.

Japan has 0.6 guns per person, that's the lowest one on the list that has guns banned.
